Let's see what he does in the meantime. Usyk-Fury is scheduled for later this year (or as per Bob, even early next year). That gives Parker the chance to have 1-2 fights in between. If Usyk decides to stay around in the HW division and Parker is mandatory, he will eventually get his chance.

Parker deserves un easy stay busy fight. He has done enough already.

Why should Parker fight all the killers while other guys do nothing?

What the hell does Usyk stand to gain from fighting him, and why is he even in the conversation?

He has lost to 2 guys. And has only ever failed to knock one opponent down (Parker). And has only failed to knock 2 opponents out his whole career (Fury and Parker).

IF Wilder beats Zhang all those casual guys will be saying Wilder is great again. You know how it works - we saw it with Joshua. Fans are idiots - a guy loses a fight and he should retire, he wins and "he is back"

Idk that he 100% beats Fury again. This fight was close & if very lil changed towards Fury or not against Fury last week Fury woulda won. That's how close it was. I could see Fury correcting things enough to win the rematch, but unlike last time I think the favorite will be Usyk going in, but I think these two are close in talent so idk that either guy would ever be a lock to win vs the other.

A lot of fans definitely overrate the 0. Some ppl act like it means lil to nothing to have an 0, but more ppl will act like not having it means far more than it does. The bottom line is Usyk was a 1st ballot HOFer BEFORE the Fury W so whatever happens from here out ain't changing much except he'll get hyped more by dumb fans who overrate the 0 if he retires now.
I agree that Fury *could* win but I still think Usyk wins. It def won't be an easy fight. I think this fight we will see Fury grabbing and holding a lot, using his size more. Worth remembering that Usyk figures people out and he's had 12 rounds with Fury now. So expect him to adjust and get better too.

Yes agree about the 0 - ultimately it means nothing. It's your overall record that counts. Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson lost fights but they fought the top guys. Usyk is a smaller guy so the fights he wins at HW mean more for him. A KO loss for him at some point for example would be very understandable. Everyone gets caught at some point

I think when you lose matters to for these exceptional talents these days. Those SRR days were different altho SRR was still an outlier for his time.

Like to me RJJ didnt legit lose til he was 35. The DQ L to me was more of a fook up than a real L.

Many of these high level HOF guys NEVER lost in a undisputed way in their prime. Maybe they lost pre-prime. Maybe they lost post-prime. Maybe they lost some close fights that coulda went either way in their prime. Maybe they lost to a another future HOFer.

So to me Usyk potentially losing in the future or Fury losing recently, both on the wrong side of their 30s, doesn't hurt them historically as much as if they'd lost at 30yrs or to a random guy at 27yrs or to a non-HOF guy.

Nothing left to prove my big hairy ass. One word, WILDER!. Fury lived through three wars with one of the hardest punchers in boxing history. I want to see Usyk get through ONE before he gets my vote.

Why would a boxing fan encourage "stay busy" fights? What is in there for anyone to see or enjoy? With the Riyadh season's backing, I would definitely love to see competitive fights where the best fight the best, not some boring fights. This might not last forever. Also, Parker's not next in line for a mandatory.

There's always something to prove. Prove you can win a rematch. Prove you deserve to be mentioned alongside Ali.

First and foremost, AJ didn’t lose as badly as Wilder did against an inferior opponent in Parker, and he actually strung together a few wins before fans started clamouring again.

Wilder isn’t even one fight removed from losing every round against Parker, and people are bringing him up before he has even had a chance to redeem himself. If he washes Zhang I’d actually get it (and that’s a big “if”), but until then he shouldn’t be in the conversation at all.

I like AJ a lot but even I can see he beat Wallin (ranked no. 11 at the time) and Ngannou (a MMA guy) in his last 2 fights. Because of these 2 fights under Ben Davidson everyone thinks he is amazing again. He did look good - but he wouldn't have looked that good fighting Uysk or Ruiz again

Wilder has always been an average "boxer". His skill is in landing his hard punches - and he put Tyson Fury down 4 times (?). He lost every round against Ortiz in their 2nd fight too before he KO'd him. He failed to land flush against Parker - but that is one time. I don;t get why everyone is so quick to bury him?? He had been out of the ring for a long time as well before Parker fight
