Outweighed, underpaid, on the road. Usyk took the hard way, there is no doubt about his quality. His problem is, who is next? Andy?
This is the main question.
Long answer... He beat AJ twice. IF he beats Fury twice, and is 38 by then, who really matters at that point for his legacy? If he was 30-35, I'd say Parker, Zhang and Hrgovic. But none of them would really add much as a last fight after beating the long-reigning champs twice each.
The short answer is, "Not Ruiz, because he has become the Keith Thurman of the HW division."
In the ring both boxers seemed to know the contest was tight and neither seemed overly confident .What was proved is Usyk hasn't got anything left to prove(they both haven't) even though the decision was split and for me could of reasonably gone the other way , I understand what Fitzgerald saw at 113-114 in favour of Usyk and the 114-113 Metcarfe saw the other way - the other Judge was way out. It proved that Fury is the only one in the game with a chance against Usyk at this moment in time , but what this brutal top level thriller might of taken out of each of them only time will tell .I'm so glad for the sake of boxing that no man easily did away with the other , like the Spence , Crawford affair and IF there is to be a rematch a case can still be made for both winning.
You could see the WBC-appointed judge’s scorecard in favour of Fury? Can you please explain how? I’m genuinely intrigued because I don’t see it at all, and it appears that virtually no mainstream opinion does.
Because the way I see it, the best case scenario I had for Fury is winning just one of the first three rounds, given Usyk was far more aggressive and accurate. Now let’s say Fury swept rounds 4 to 7, he quite obviously lost rounds 8 to 11 including a 10-8 round in the 9th. Him winning the 12th makes it 113-114 to Usyk - where are you seeing even more rounds for Fury?
I'd advise Usyk to retire now. He has nothing left to prove in boxing. Few have the wisdom to retire at their peak. Why does he need even more money? In reality he KO'd Fury in round 9, Fury and the crooked little referee who blocked him not once but twice, both actually. And who knows what dirty tricks the kings and princes in The House of Saul's Arabia will conjure up next time so that they can get a lucrative 3rd match between them, because THEY have a never ending lust for more and more money.
.
I think he loves boxing and still has 2-3 fights left in him at HW. He's a small guy and it will always be dangerous for him in that division but I think he will beat Fury again. A Joshua fight seems pointless, but Wilder could be a final fight for him (v. dangerous fight tho!)
People are only advising him to retire because they think an unbeaten record is everything. Honestly he could lose every fight he has left and still be great.
Id be advising him to retire, spend the rest of his life with his family without them worrying about Dad getting brain damaged and as he still loves boxing , to start a natiinal academy and train a new generation.

Agree. He just said a couple wks ago he wants to fight another 2.5yrs which is probably 2-3 fights.
Idk that he 100% beats Fury again. This fight was close & if very lil changed towards Fury or not against Fury last week Fury woulda won. That's how close it was. I could see Fury correcting things enough to win the rematch, but unlike last time I think the favorite will be Usyk going in, but I think these two are close in talent so idk that either guy would ever be a lock to win vs the other.
A lot of fans definitely overrate the 0. Some ppl act like it means lil to nothing to have an 0, but more ppl will act like not having it means far more than it does. The bottom line is Usyk was a 1st ballot HOFer BEFORE the Fury W so whatever happens from here out ain't changing much except he'll get hyped more by dumb fans who overrate the 0 if he retires now.

I find it so baffling that people are still mentioning Wilder. He has lost 3 out of his last 4 fights, getting knocked out by Fury twice and completely whitewashed by Parker, to the extent that he’s ranked well outside the top 5 by The Ring, TBRB, ESPN and just about everyone else. What the hell does Usyk stand to gain from fighting him, and why is he even in the conversation?
