You folks take this sport way too seriously. It's not even a real sport. It's entertainment. It's not like tennis in which players don't get to pick and choose who they want to compete with. And they compete in as many tournaments as possible in a year. In boxing fighters get to pick and choose whoever is agreeable to your and his demands. Most of them fight once a year. Big fights only happen when conditions are met by both parties. There's no such thing in other sports.

Boxing has not set schedule as tennis does. BUT, the money is there now, so fight more that once per year most of the best fighters will.

Now that he is likely retired , allow me to sum up his career. He was knocked down early in his career by a tier 3 eastern euro guy. He really lost to fat John McDermott, but was gifted win. He fought Dereck Chisora THREE times. He struggled with a 37 year old Steve Cunningham, who floored him, and was badly cut by Otto Wallin. Klitschko was 40 years old with nearly 70 fights of mileage on him. And that fight was a dull jab fest between two guys afraid to pull the trigger. Fury deserved credit for beating Wilder when he was still undefeated. But at 35 years old I’m not even sure if Wilder was prime. And as we saw Wilder was over rated. The Francis N’gaou fight was a disgrace. Many say he lost or drew to an 0-0 fighter. And in all that time Fury was around he never once faced a man his own size let alone bigger in his prime. NEVER. He’s probably one of the weakest lineal champs in the sports history.

And don't forget he tested positive for PED's. How many fight was he on something and not caught? And Fury was docked points in 5 separate fights. The man is DIRTY.

I would say that arguably Fury was the best heavyweight of his time but certainly not all-time. Yes, the resume may be lacking but he was a good fighter in his own right though.

I remember that. Lot of people here might not have been into Boxing back then but during his prospect days, he was seen as a side show. Fury wasn’t regarded as a serious fighter at all and nobody expected him to become what he is today. It was only after he beat Chisora when fans started to take notice. I dont remember exactly why but I decided to bet on Fury for the first time and he did not disappoint!

Tyson Fury is truly an overachiever.. when I think back to 2009-2010, I can only remember people making of him on the forums with various gifs of dude uppercutting himself etc.

He thought size meant everything but he didn't realise its the size of your heart that matters most.

I doubt his heart is in the game anymore. It wasn't after beating Klitschko. I'd be surprised if it is now he's lost his O.

He'd still make a great WWE showman with his dad as hypeman.

He still has the love of the game in him. It showed Saturday. He was having fun out there with Usyk.

However, physically though; His body has been through a grind. In his 15 and 1/2 year boxing career; He has been dropped to the canvas for a total of eight times.

Yet he has always managed to get up from them and finish each and every fight he was ever knock down in on his feet up until now.

The years that he was broken and partying are now appearing to have taken its toll. It has aged him.
