I can remember when people thought Fury was just an outright joke who would never do anything in the sport.

      Look at him now...

I agree, he isn't in the conversation related to best of all time HWs, he has a very poor resume.

He is one of the smartest and the wittiest fighters out there. He is like the opposite of Chad Dawson lol.

Or is this just you moving the goalpost again as usual?

Why even bring up rankings for Tyson Fury when you don’t count them anyway? Like you do for fighters you like.
Inoue was fighting ranked guys all the time. He turned pro in 2012 and has already faced 14 ranked opponents in 27 fights. Fury turned pro in 2008 and has only faced 6 ranked opponents in 36 fights. Of course I would've loved to have seen Inoue fight those guys but we saw him face other credible guys instead. Fury fought guys like Joey Abell, Kevin Johnson, Sefer Seferi, Derek Chisora, Tom Schwarz, and Francis Ngannou instead of the credible names in his division. I don't particularly care WHY one specific fight with one specific guy didn't take place, like all the drama with Haye. I just fired off a list of champions and ranked contenders from his era off the top of my head that he didn't fight.

And I counted Whyte, even though I think he sucks. That's why I bothered to look up his ranking and list him here.

Smartest thing Fury ever did was make Joseph Parker his BFF so he'd never have to fight him.

Parker does to Fury what Usyk did but lays him out proper!

I remember that. Lot of people here might not have been into Boxing back then but during his prospect days, he was seen as a side show. Fury wasn’t regarded as a serious fighter at all and nobody expected him to become what he is today. It was only after he beat Chisora when fans started to take notice. I dont remember exactly why but I decided to bet on Fury for the first time and he did not disappoint!

Tyson Fury is truly an overachiever.. when I think back to 2009-2010, I can only remember people making of him on the forums with various gifs of dude uppercutting himself etc.

Disagree. Future mfers won't even remember half of the negatives you brought up. They almost never do about anyone as long as you didn't kill someone. Sh^t I bet a good % of boxing fans under 35 don't even realize Mike Tyson went to prison for r#pe.

Did Fury do everything he coulda did in boxing? Obviously not, but few do. Did he do some ****** sh^t? Definitely lol. But Fury is a first ballot HOFer all the same.

He was the underdog in Chisora 1, Wlad, Wilder 1 and think Wilder 2

I followed him since the beginning and had a lot of arguments with people who literally made out that he was club fighter level and I was having to explain no, hes a very nuanced and skilled fighter.

He did over-achieve but he also underachieved a bit in my opinion as he never really took his conditioning seriously and was a bit ignorant in my view thinking he could skate by on natural talent.
