But wait .. Lennox got beat by 2 American fighters, not a damned Ukrainian! And he came back and avenged both those losses .. in the US!

And in the eyes of US boxing journalists, America is the home of HW boxing. And if you want to remembered as an ATG HW boxer you need to be either American or fighting and defeating Americans on US soil.

Meanwhile, in the real world ....

No. Fury can’t be an ATG because he’s only beaten 2 good fighters his entire career, and just lost to a middleweight (his own words). The Wilder trilogy might have been classic fights, but Wilder is a one-trick pony and was just dominated and lost every round to Parker. Fury ran from the Klitschko rematch twice, was caught cheating and AJ ironed him out instead.

He’s made a load of money but wasted too much of his career fighting nobodies and snorting coke. Fury ain’t coming back to avenge anything. That was the best possible version of him that turned up on Saturday and he still lost. If he takes the rematch he’ll lose again.

What makes him an ATG exactly?

Fury is pretty decent for this ERA but any other ERA, he would just be another guy, maybe even just a journeyman. I mean does anyone really think he would beat a prime Holyfield, Tyson, Lewis, ect ect? Or Even beat guys like Michael Moore, David Tua, Spinks, Hasim Rahman, or really any decent mid level HW Champ? Don't even get me started on the golden era of HW, guys like Ali, Frazier, Forman, ECT, ECT. Come on now....

    5. Lennox Lewis gets knocked out by two boxers not in Usyk's class and it's swept under the rug? And I could pick out similar in every 'Elite' boxer you mentioned.

Usyk AND Fury are up there with any of them...Ever! If two greats fight, barring the rare draw, SOMEBODY has to lose.

So, let's say with your 1 and 2, by your logic, if Ali beat Louis, then Louis is suddenly second rate too.

Don't compare him to Lewis. That's just dumb. You can cut in half Lewis' resume and it is stronger than Fury's.

You say he lost to an ATG but what notable name did he actually beat? Don't say Wilder who is awful. His best wins are literally a 39 yr old WK in an absolute stinker of a fight and Dillian Whyte.

He should have fought Ruiz, Zhang, Parker, Hrgovic, Sanchez etc etc instead of Chisora THREE TIMES or Schwarz, Pianata cherry pick fights.

AJ's resume is clearly, clearly much stronger now especially after the last three wins in a row. Even Parker has a comparable set of wins.

Zhang smashing Wilder to bits soon will be another nail in the coffin of his legacy, after Fury's wins over Wallin and Ngannou were exposed by AJ as frauds.

AJ himself is likely the final nail in said coffin, as I predict AJ stops him and sends him into retirement. He was never even best of his generation let alone an ATG. would not get into top 25.

Lewis was in some very exciting fights, Briggs, Bruno, Mercer and Klitsko all come to mind.

    Fan friendly?

He fought 6 entertaining fights in his entire career. The rest was bums and inactivity.

Fury has no credentials to remotely rate him as an ATG.

Fury didn't LET Usyk do anything. Usyk stepped it up and outfought Fury. End of story.

This is the scummy side of boxing that i hate. And why no one is talking about the ridiculous Dress Fury wore all the way to his ****, go look at it that not an ordinary boxing shorts .

Usyk was robbed of the KO in the 9th round PERIOD. If Fury too flawed, then USYK IS FLAWLESS one of the Greats!
Man, there were about 12 seconds left from that round. Fury was knocked down, so the referee started counting (which usually lasts +/- 10 seconds but is not related to seconds) and Fury beat the count. When a fighter does so, the referee also checks him if he really can continue (it is also his duty to protect the fighters). Then we apply the rules that a fighter cannot be saved by the bell which is why the bell rang after that check. Practically Fury was up and the round was about to end in some 2-3 seconds. But let's say he had a gift - gifts are allowed only when Usyk simulates in order to avoid KO?
