What Is This Habit To Immediately Belittle A Great Fighter That Lost

    Happens almost every single time…

Fury is not a bum, he was not overrated, in fact the opposite is true, Fury is an incredibly skilled big man who has had a very successful reign at heavyweight.

Fury fought and beat Klitschko when Klitschko was the reigning heavyweight champ, sure he might’ve been older and past his best days but he still was The Champ who reigned for 10 years, and Fury was the one to dethrone him.

Fury didn’t dodge the biggest puncher in boxing ie Wilder, instead he gave him 3 fights. He plowed through Whyte, Chisora, and a handful of other top gatekeepers.

And in Usyk he fought one of the best of this generations fighters and came up short in a close fight. No shame in losing to someone who will go down in history as an ATG.

I try not to denigrate any fighter that steps in the ring. I also try to avoid blind worship of any fighter. I think they are tied together.

However, I think a lot of the belittling of a fighter on forums is less to do with the fighter and more to do with those that are fans of the fighter. The bigger names tend to draw fanboys who can be obnoxious and oversensitive. When times are good, they are in full glory and when their fighter falls, others are ready to run their faces in the defeat.

I’ve noticed a lot of people online were and are saying what bums Usyk and Fury BOTH are, and that prime Mike Tyson would have made easy work of them.

        Modern fans are awful.

You can never get an accurate gauge on perception of a fighters career until a few years after they retire.

I think Fury will end up being missed as he has been an entertaining fighter and he has good achievements.

I have to be honest, in the build up to fury vs Usyk I started to feel like I needed a break from the sport, just because of the sensationalised nonsense I was hearing from fans, both for and against Fury. It got so tiresome. I'm an adult, It wears me out hearing about "bums" and "frauds" all the time when talking about guys with multiple world title wins.

Very few people have been calling Fury a bum or bad. People are just happy at him getting the comeuppance he's deserved as an obnoxious arrogant person and a genuine scumbag. He's still a great boxer and can retire proud of his achievements but he deserves to cop a lot after the **** he's talked and what he has become.

He put on a great performance against Usyk, it just wasn't enough and it's now clear who the man is and that man is Usyk.

            Happy new year.

Fury was great but he didn't test himself often. He's 4-1-1 against other world titlists and one of those wins was against Steve Cunningham. Never fought Joshua, never fought Ruiz, never fought Parker, never fought Stiverne, etc. Instead we got Schwarz, Chisora, Whyte, Seferi, Ngannou... c'mon.

The wins over Klitschko and Wilder were fantastic but he should've been fighting other champions and/or ranked contenders a lot more often than he did.

Standard for this site Jim. Don’t forget, we have posters that think getting a ko win after getting knocked down or winning a tougher than expected fight means a guy is exposed.

                Very strange.

It’s strictly because Fury is a cvnt. A PED cheat and a ridiculous BS artist.

you’ve also got his father …..

Theres double standards on all of that though.

Basically the answer is "because I don't like him" that's what this boils down to.
