I had it 4-2 Fury after 6. I only gave Fury the 12th in the 2nd half so my card was 7-5 (115-112). Fury was landing solid 2 punch combos to the body & was starting to slow Usyk down. I said to the guy beside me after those body shots he needs to grab him & lean on him until the ref breaks them up. He was in control but he would not lean on him enough so Usyk made adjustments & took control of the fight. It was close enough that I would expect them to do it again. It was a good fight.

Usyk landed a cross to the head in the first round, but it was at the very end of it. How do you weigh that? Fury's jabs were not clean , how do you weigh that? Usyk hit the body with nothing on them, how do you weigh that? Usyk followed Fury, but Fury was pot shotting.
The match was a nightmare to judge and for once the judges got it right - it can be scored either way. Fury won the last round, the judge who gave him the fight is not necessarily wrong.
Rewatching the fight, I think they did hurt. I think Usyk surprised Fury with how he could hurt him. Fury takes shots well but that doesn't mean they don't count. Usyk was beating him up even in those close rounds.
I also think the cheers every time Fury landed were overstating what he was doing. Yes he's a big man hitting a smaller man, but plenty of those shots were 'slappy'. The uppercuts were decent and a few body shots were too.Last edited by Toffee; 05-19-2024, 09:10 PM.

His corner A.K.A his own father….lol…this ain’t gonna end well either big bad John gets the actual trainer out of the team or Fury tells his father to go take a nap . Lol

I like John Fury for promotional purposes but him in the corner is a whole other story. But I'd assume Tyson okayed him to be in the corner being an agent of chaos, which is what he excels at, so thats on Tyson.
There was definitely too many contestable rds to be THAT confident you had a decision locked up so idk why Sugar or Andy would say they had the dec W locked up. It was a close ass fight where if one of the disputed rds went Fury's way its a draw.
But yea definitely too many cooks in the kitchen with Sugar, Andy & John in the corner. Fury should link back up with Davison & keep Sugar or Andy & tell his dad to stick to headbutting mfers at the grand arrivals.

To a more specific point its 2024 ffs. Not even getting into strategic sh^t you brought up & is a fair critique, but you shouldn't be dependant on how your corner has scored the fight to begin with. I want my corner looking at mistakes I'm making to fix & mistakes my opp is making that I can exploit to tell me between rds not doing rbr 10-9 math in their fooking head.
Later on in the day Navarette fought & espn had it even late in the fight. The next rd Navarette's corner told him espn had it even & he needed to step up in these last few rds or he was at risk of losing. He still lost, but he did attempt to step on the gas more.
Tyson had 3 trainers in the corner but no one was looking at impartial breakdowns of how the fight was progressing? Thats just fooking ****** in this era of info.

...and all Fisheyes can talk about is the contract and immediate rematch but if Usyk doesn't want to run it back and prefers to stay home in Ukraine Frank cant do ****, neither can Turki while Fury doesn't even get a say.
