  • I wouldn't mind seeing Munguía vs Mbilli or Morrell. But it's time for Canelo v Benavidez. Munguía looks a clear level above the likes of Charlo and definitely Berlanga. I think he's probably better than Mbilli also.

    • I had it 117-110. 116-111 is reasonable. 115-112 is not crazy, but pushing it.

But he only has so many times he can step on the gas, because there is only so much gas in the tank. Typical Canelo fight, he has his great moments but he fights in spurts.

no way did canelo win the 11th…….i think munguia won the first 3 rounds and defo won at least 2 rounds in the 2nd half of the fight

                • Canelo is still really good in many regards, but he is clearly fading in others. His chin is still awesome, still hits hard, fights smart, but his defense has really dropped off A LOT in the last couple years and his work rate hasn't been much for years now, so he gives away a handful of rounds every fight. 168 is weak and thin, so Canelo can survive a while with smart matchmaking, but he's there for the taking imo. Munguia did not fight like Bivol tonight imo, he fought like a facsimile of Benavidez actually, but Benavidez is bigger, stronger, faster and more nuanced. I imagine Benavidez watched that fight and saw a clear path to beating Canelo, I think that is just a nightmare matchup for Canelo.

I imagine we will see Canelo vs Berlanga in September with Jermall as a backup. Munguia's stock is definitely up after tonight, GB would be smart to try to angle him right back into an eliminator against somebody like Scull or Bazinyan, if they can't make those, an in house fight against Melikuziev would be fun and a good comeback opponent.

It’s Canelo. Lol, a lot of people just don’t give him a round he deserves. Or any punch landed by the opponent gives them the entire round, even if Canelo lands the better one’s.

                    • He should had said David's name. He is scarred of making a verbal commitment or sound like he is ducking.

Just saying that if the money has to be right sounds like a duck since everyone else they made an offer.
