If you look at my top 50 I have a Billy Conn in there and I don't have Roy Jones on that list. So my vote went to Conn. I myself put a lot of emphasis on lineage claims. The lineage tltle means you are the real champ. If you look at Conn resume he beat very good fighters. And, also won the LHW linear title. So at LHW Conn was the REAL champ. While Roy Jones never ever won a linear title. In none of the 4 weightclass that RJJ has fought in has wno a linear title. And, plus there was no SMW or CW division when Conn fought. If there were Conn would probable have more linear titles. Plus Conn gave Louis, who IMO is the 2nd greatest HW off all time and easy in top 10 P4P of all time, all he could handle.

This is the ******est response yet. You don't know Harry Greb or Sam Langford either, but there is absolutley no doubt that they rank higher p4p than Roy and almost all other fighters in boxing history.

and the **** @ ''there are very few billy conn fights on tape but there are many articles''

      articles dont mean ****
Newspaper articles were the internet of the day. Reporters from the top papers covered all the major fights.

And based on the footage we do have and considering the fighters Conn fought, that says more than the paper title Roy won over Ruiz or his wins over fighters like Glenn Kelly or Richard Hall.

Video & analysis of that fighter > Old newspaper accounts & analysis of that fighter. Because we all know journalist never embellish or hype up anything.

Question should have been who's a better fighter. Based on benny leonard's video, its clearly Roy.

You know, Im getting a little tired of you calling my threads bait threads. Im sorry if you can't have an intelligent discussion because you lack the knowledge to do so on certain subjects. But stop acting like a little punk because of it, or just don't respond at all.

In actuality they are quite comparable p4p and that is why I started the thread. Unfortunately its over the heads of many of the goobers here, and they're to lazy to do any research. I appreciate you staying neutral. read up on Conn if you get the chance, he was a great fighter.

Yup. Among the idiots and unknowledgable Jones is winning by a landslide.

I should have known better than to put this in NSB. The lack of historical intelligence here is astounding.

Unfortunately neither do 99% of the posters who have commented Mak. This was never about putting Roy down, but about how close they should rank historically.
