I hate this mythical concept of "elite". Elite is mfers sitting on the couch fan sh^t.

Devin doesn't become #1 at 135 & #2 at 140 if he wasn't a bad mfer. Bad mfers lose every Saturday in boxing. Some of yall need to go watch that slap league sh^t & quit watching boxing with your low level takes

Boots? I think the collective impression of boots is based more on optimistic speculation than his level of competition. But Ryan needs to completely eliminate some elements from his game.

I like that he fights tall, if he protects his head and stops the leaning/bending over. Seems to have good pop and speed but I personally think he needs to jab more. It's like he has the makings of a better fighter than he is, but not sure if he'll get there.

He handled business last night though. I thought somebody would have to beat Haney with a KO, but kds worked instead. Same idea, but I also think he couldve finished him if he stayed on the gas earlier.

His chin does seem really khan like. Wobbling all over the ring against Linares and Loma and now getting dropped 5 times yikes.

Haney doesn’t need to retire. He needs to get a new trainer. His chin is an issue for sure but he can learn defense.

I'm one of those cats who goof on the concept of "man strength" too. You got power or you don't. I've known some cats strong as fook as a kid & old ass mfers weak as hell. I think you can improve your power by building muscle & working on your technique but its a small % thing not some massive change one can make. Thats not to say there aren't outliers I just didn't see Devin as one of those either.
I'm definitely of the opinion that you can make huge changes in power from technical changes.

Power is force on target, and force is mass times acceleration. Eg, how much mass do you recruit into the movement (weight transfer) and how fast can you get it moving. Haney actually specifically uses a low mass technique which increases his speed while keeping him defensively responsible, but sacrifices power. It's, fortunately or unfortunately, a key aspect of his style. Makes it so he can reduce telegraph and land fast punches, and they've got enough pop to keep people honest, but robs him of KO power. I don't think he has the killer instinct anyways, so he's better the way he is. But it's a technical issue. He doesn't do his punches conventionally.

jas, that's what happens once a fighter dares to be great. They take on all comers against high risk fighters like Ryan Garcia. Haney didn't need to take that fight but he wanted it anyway. Now what about bitch ass Canelo? Where's his balls? Why won't he dare to be great like Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney against David Benavidez?

gtfoh. Hankey was NOT taking a risk. This was a cherry pick. Cryan wasn't even top 10. He was seen as an easy cherry pick with extremely high reward and it backfired badly.

Carnela is a bltch that's why
