He dominated a somewhat lackluster division, had over 20 title defenses, made millions of dollars, sold out in L.A, NY, and Vegas, and had carnela duck him and made him vacate his belt and expose Andre coWard for ducking (muh email doe) lmao

He had a pretty good career for someone who was stuck with a shltty promoter in his 20s til finally breaking thru the United States in his 30s.

      Enjoy retirement champ.

Maybe he was avoided in his prime, so he was knocking out plenty of no-hopers in spectacular fashion. But once he stepped up in competition, he wasn't so dominant. Jacobs, Derevchenko and ginger were all close fights. Good for him for sucker'n Hearns with a huge contract.

Really disappointed that he never stepped up one more time against Lara, roughly the same age, I think they would have tore the house down.

Its not his fault that when he was in his peak opponents were terrified to go anywhere near him. Golovkin will no doubt go down as one of the greatest middleweights of all time - there has not been another fighter like him in that division who had the full spectrum of punching power, balance, an incredible chin, subtle defensive skills, ability to cut of a ring, Mexican pressure style, an A+ jab and a high boxing IQ. Its also unfortunate that probably all of his biggest fights arrived once he was 35 plus years of age during the onset of athletic decline, yet he still arguably managed to win them all apart from the trilogy fight with Canelo where Canelo forced him to debut at 168lbs at 41 years old...

Too bad he got robbed of his two best wins against Canelo.

Gennady Golovkin only fought two elite opponents in his whole 40+ opponents Canelo Álvarez and Daniel Jacobs. The only reason why he got so much promotion and love was because he was white. Let’s be real

Floyd was already proven, has fought elit names. Golovkin only fought canelo and Daniel Jacobs
