I'm guessing Jaron Ennis won't be the last to jump ship and sign up as a DAZN fighter.
Others would soon follow if they feel they're wasting their primes.
Since you have also been following this, IBF just put their purse bid back in play. Should see a resolution of which fight Crowley will take soon.
I watched one of Hearn's interviews today, and he said something about a purse-bid...but I thought he was mistaken because the IBF had cancelled it. So it seems like there is progress. This is an example of why it's valuable for a boxer to have a notable promotional team around them.
Bozy Ennis is a clown and is clearly the reason why his son is not a superstar in the sport. The fact that Ennis had to go to court to get out of a management contract with a dead man says it all.
The potential Saudi oil money gotta be the main motivation for the signing.
It's not far-fetched Ennis getting introduced in the undercards in the Saudi boxing sooner than you think. I could already see him being in the audience in the Fury/Usyk fight as one of the guests.
You know what...let me channel my anger into the form of a letter directed to a certain promotional outfit....Dear PBC WWs, You sucka azz bytch made motha fuqkas. All ten of you chumps scared to fight that dude. Everyone had some sort of excuse: Stantionis "sorry I'll be busy with Virgil for 3 years" ... Barrios "no can do I just had a kid and I'm not fighting until Boots goes to LHW" ... Earl "shiddddd I just got ran over by Bud" ... Bud "man I'm 38 yrs old I aint fighting that youngin" ..... KEEF "My feet hurt" ..... Ugas "no hablo ingles" .... Danny "me and Canelo don't fight Mexicans...huh?" .... man this is disappointing!!!
well, now that Ennis is on the "wrong side of the street", I would think you will have no problem whatsoever if he gets frozen out. I mean, it certainly didnt bother you one bit that Spence, Thurman, Garcia, Porter, etc spent 5 or 6 years just fighting each other again and again and again, terrified to even THINK Crawfords name, simply because Crawford was signed to a white promoter. That was just peachy keen to you, so dont be a hypocrite now. Ennis is signed to a white promoter, so it should be just dandy if all the PBC welters and jr middles avoid him like the plague, right?
But just for the record, I dont think its PBCs fault that Ennis hasnt had a single meaningful fight. And I wont blame Matchroom either if they cant get one made. I firmly believe the issue here is that Ennis pops is impossible to deal with. He turned down Crawford TWICE, and who knows how many more fights he has passed on. Ennis couldnt sell out his own living room, but I would imagine the financial demands his pops would have to fight anyone in the top 5 would be laughable,
Again, just my opinion. Cameron Dunkin doesnt usually protect his guys like that. He would have wanted to make money, and you dont make money fighting one dummy after another as the 3rd or 4th fight down on the card. I guess we will see if Hearn gets anything done. Personally, as long as the pops is involved, I dont see it happening........

WTF r u talking about you fuqing idiot. WTF does Bud being signed to a white promoter have anything to do with him not getting fights. He made a bad biz decision that had nothing to do with race. You do know Top Rank has been run by Bob Arum since the 69s when he had good close relationships with fighters like Ali, Leonard and Hagler. Mannyou must be another one who just started watching boxing in 2006 when Pacman burst on the scene cause YDKSAB!
PBC/Showtime failed to make him active. He languished on the PBC shelves and father and son had choice to continue that way. Be a fan of the sport people. Not just your kind.
I know its popular and convenient to blame PBC but how do you know the blame wasn't at Boots and his management? They don't seem like the brightest bulbs when it comes to managing his career. He will probably fight 2x a year with eddie and they will all be bums.

then please provide another reason why the PBC fan club was just fine with all the PBC welters swerving Bud for HALF A DECADE, and in addition they were just fine with Wilder avoiding Joshua. What do Bud and AJ both have in common?? Hmmmmmmm, gee I wonder what it could be.........
It really blows my mind that we're nearly fifteen years into the shift that happened in boxing in regard to exclusive network contracts and people are still looking to point fingers at individual promoters and even individual fighters.
It started with Golden Boy refusing to make fights with Top Rank fighters. Hell, you could say it even started way back when De La Hoya sued Top Rank, got out of his contract, and started GBP.
Once HBO was out of the game, PBC and Matchroom tried to become the UFC of boxing.... tried to create more-or-less a monopoly. Failed.
So nowadays GBP, Matchroom, Top Rank, and PBC all have content deals with networks, and only co-promote once in a blue moon when they see an opportunity that benefits them. Smaller guys like DiBella and Duva have been squeezed out... they basically groom talent and then hand it off to someone with a TV deal like DiBella did with Kambosis to TR.
Remember when Oscar killed Charlo-Mungie after terms were agreed because he didn't want his fighter fighting on PBC?
This is like complaining about "why doesn't UFC make a fight with their champion against ONE's champion?"
When a guy signs to ONE or PLF, he knows that fighting UFC fighters is off the table.
Same thing applies to Crawford when he resigned with Top Rank when the rest of 147 was at PBC. Tim Bradley did the same.
I don't get why everyone is insisting on wanting to argue about things as they want them to be, not as they are.
