You're 100% correctamundo! I just don't get why he would do that. Showtime raised him from a young pup. Brought him along nicely and seamlessly into Showtime's top attraction. Should've been a no Brainer to sign with PBC and give us the fights we crave from 147-160 for the next 5 years. How he was unable to reach a deal with Al after all these years and then sign with a promoter who has a proven track record of failure in America is baffling. I thought this whole time the problem was with PBC. Maybe he has been the jerk this whole time. A Bronx could you imagine waking up today and reading the NY Times that the "Bronx Bombers" have reach a deal with Saudi to move the team there to start a new baseball league in the middle east? Trump voice: SADDDD!!!

It's pretty difficult to fulfill obligations when the next top-rated contender appears to be difficult in negotiations....and you're in a promotional lawsuit. Now that Ennis is officially signed to a new promoter in Matchroom, let's see if things start progressing.

I have no idea why the IBF would allow Crowley to drop out of the Essuman purse-bid without penalty. Crowley has also been even more inactive than Ennis. Now that Crowley has Cissokho as an option per the WBC, it seems less likely he'll be fighting Ennis next.

We don't know what was offered to Ennis. Clearly, Team Ennis preferred what Matchroom presented to them, so they accepted. I assumed that Ennis would sign to the PBC. Ennis was fighting on PBC cards for the majority of his tenure with SHO, so maybe he knows something we don't.

PBC doesn't seem to have enough resources to keep their boxers active, so it's possible that one of those PBC associates will be out-sourced to MR. At 147, PBC has two fighters worth mentioning: Barrios and Stanionis. It isn't clear how much longer they'll be tethered to PBC, and what their current deals look like. Stanionis seems to have gotten dropped off at PBC by Schaefer, so his situation is especially confusing. PBC has more fighters at 154, but it's chaotic. Ennis would move up and continue to get avoided. You think Lubin is going to risk his rankings for Ennis? Maybe Jesus Ramos would fight Ennis? That's one guy out of how many? The simple fact is that Ennis has no value at 154, and a PBC association wouldn't immediately change that. Guys like Ennis need consistent activity, and we don't know if PBC could realistically offer him that.

Forget 154lbs, Ennis obviously intends to defend his 147lb IBF title and he's possibly looking at back-to-back mandatories so might as well be with a promoter who can provide activity.

As others have said, it's a thin division. Crawford is a free agent. This whole narrative about PBC having all the best relevant fighters and talking as if 147 and 154 are synonymous is silly.

I feel like the activity is likely the main motivation. Hes had 4 fights in 4yrs & hasn't fought at all in 9mos. Hes been moved awful for the potential he has. At a minimum hes gonna be more active with Eddie which is gonna help him tremendously already.

Saudi money is a big potential upside if this Eddie & Saudi thing continues to be a thing, but I don't think it'd be the main motivation.

As usual, silly ass fans treating father and son team Bozy and Boots like they're babies. They don't know what they're doing. Fast Eddie pointed a gun on their heads and forced them to sign. They didn't have to sign brotha.

PBC/Showtime failed to make him active. He languished on the PBC shelves and father and son had choice to continue that way. Be a fan of the sport people. Not just your kind.

Ortiz will be fighting Thomas Dulorme who has not appeared in a boxing ring since July 2022.
Fightng a guy who hasn’t fought in 2 years. Can you imagine if that was Boots fighting Dulorme how triggered you would be?

Let’s not forget Ortiz did nothing at 147. I mean how is his career different at 147 compared to Boots?
