You could probably count on two hands the amount of fighters that could legitimately thrive or survive as free agents. It seems like networks do business primarily with the promotional companies, who are then given budgets and dates. IDK why business is specifically done this way, but that's currently how the infrastructure is. How many boxers are negotiating directly with the network?

Who did Spence not fight @ 147? Thurman? See people say "never" too loosely! Spence fought Brook, Peterson, Mikey, Porter, DSG, Ugas, and Crawford, but they'll say, "He didn't fight Thurman!" Jermell Charlo fought Gabe Rosado, Martirosyan, Jackson, Lubin, Trout, Harrison X 2, Rosario, and Castano X 2! Haters will say, "but he never fought Tszyu." SMH!

so far Matias & Boots. Two really big signings. Let’s see who else is next
Boots was never signed to PBC. His handshake agreement was with Stephen Espinoza.

Boots should be taking any fight coming his way
Bozy Ennis is a clown and is clearly the reason why his son is not a superstar in the sport. The fact that Ennis had to go to court to get out of a management contract with a dead man says it all.

Well, he hasn't done a great job promoting himself using Twitter so far. Look, in principle I am in favour of boxers going it alone and sidelining the promoters. But in practice it's a very difficult thing to do unless you're an elite few. Even AJ apparently prefers using a promoter.

He got to this point as a free agent, people know who he is, he has some status. I can see why a 8-0 prospect might sign a promotional deal though. Seems like Boots wants big fights and Matchroom told him they could get them for him hope it works out since he has been inactive lately.

My hope is the Saudi's freeze the sanctioning bodies and promoters out of the game and organize something of a league with 1 champion per division, I read not long ago they were mulling over creating their own title.

Ennis wasn't a promotional free agent though; he recently resolved a lawsuit in order to become a free agent. Ennis actually blamed his promoter (Cameron Dunkin) for not getting him enough fights. https://www.ringtv.com/667163-jaron-...ith-prejudice/

I don't think the Saudis have the power to completely transform boxing's business infrastructure. Turki is essentially a glorified sponsor; he loves the sport and is using his resources to help promoters put on events. All of us should enjoy it while it lasts.

Didn't realize, thought he was indy the whole time.

I am just glad we're getting undisputed title fights now, who knows how long it will last but would be nice to see boxing operate like a real organized sport instead of Canelo just fighting whoever, at whatever weight, for whatever title he wants for example.

Which I predict being 2-3 more years. It's not a long term solution, any more than voting in a billionaire as president was...

Since you have also been following this, IBF just put their purse bid back in play. Should see a resolution of which fight Crowley will take soon.
