That's quite the worrisome title, glad Duran's condition is improving.

I’m still not sure how he beat Barkley. At 37 years old, that was just ridiculous.

Considering the massive size difference (5'6 originating four divisions below vs 6'1), Barkley being a puncher with 63% knockout rate, and immediately coming from having blown out a 29 year old Thomas Hearns's by KO. (he also beat him in a close rematch at light heavyweight).

It's highly impressive that he did so at 37 years old.

I'm hoping Roberto makes it to 100! His fight with Barkley is one of the most entertaining fights ever. His first battle with Leonard is epic. His defeat of Davey Moore is one of the worst beatings. He arguably beat Marvin Hagler. He crushed Cuevas like a tomato can. His fight with Buchannan was savage. And for Duran to take down Buchannan who had much more experience at the time, at just 21 years old, was huge. And then he bested DeJesus twice in two fun fights. There will always be a case for Duran being the best of all time.

Duran is also the only one of the Four Kings to defeat Sugar Ray Leonard and the only fighter to ever defeat Leonard during his prime.

Larry Holmes thought so. It was close but damn. A middleweight champion should have ran over a natural lightweight and Hagler did anything but that. Duran landed well and timed him and made him look like crap. Hagler even started just moving away in the eleventh and had no clue. It's not a hard argument to make.

He beat Leonard H2H at Leonards top weight. But thats not the point, its a P4P comparison. There have been plenty of fighters who lost to P4P lesser fighters because they moved up into the lesser fighters natural weight.

Duran beating Iran Barkley in a 12 round SPLIT decision doesn't mean Duran would EVER beat Thomas Hearns, just because Iran Barkley beat Thomas Hearns twice, with their first fight being a 3rd round TKO and Tommy losing a second fight with Iran Barkley in a 12 round SPLIT decision. That's why they fight the fights. Hearns always had too much fire power & skill for Duran to deal with. Thomas Hearns was a better boxer than Sugar Ray Leonard. In 15 rounds, Ray only won 4 rounds and the 14th where Ray won in his first fight with Thomas Hearns, but everybody know Tommy Hearns beat the dog do do otta Leonard. Leonard eye was NEVER the same. Tommy mess Ray up for life.

You sound like one of the guys on the Facebook Duran fan page I belong to. lol I’ve been a fan of his since the late 70s. I’d rank Roberto somewhere in the top 5-10. Greatest Latino boxer of all time, but greatest overall? Nah No way. There’s no doubt Duran’s accomplishments are highly impressive, however, otherwise I wouldn’t rank him so high.
