Its called supply and demand. If the promoters and public truly demands it, then supply the asking price. If Canelo can make $60M against Munguia or a Charlo, why fight for that same amount against the next guy who is making a lot of noise and building a huge following?

there is every reason it can't. There is no way that fight generates enough for Canelo to get 150-200m even if it was marinated another 3 years. Comparing it to May/Pac shows you don't know much. Mayweather and Pac were the 2 biggest of their eras ppv stars, Benavidez isn't even a top 5 star in boxing. Not s***** on Benavidez he deserves the fight but comparing it May Pac is dumb Benavidezs popularity anf star power does not even come close for that you need to be known to the big casuao audience. Mayweather Pacquaio everyone knew evem those fans who only watch the big one off boxing fights. Holy mackerel, I can’t believe what I just read in this article. Obviously this is the biggest duck in history but Canelo should have just left it his asking price and not say, benavidez brings nothing to the table because what the hell does munguia bring to the table? Benavidez has been canelo mandatory for 2 years and if he won’t fight him then strip him of his title. I use to be an Canelo fan and always respected his resume but after this ridiculous, unheard of asking price, I’m not a fan anymore.
