Does Mungia have a chance against Canelo?

I think his lack of defense will be his downfall and Canelo breaks him down and beats him in the 8-9th round. I also do not think he hits hard enough to bother Canelo. He was taking shots from Bivol and they did not seem to bother him, so I doubt Mugia will have much luck.

I slightly favor Canelo, but the balance between Munguia's youth and Canelo's inevitable sliding - as slow as it may be - could produce a more unpredictable fight than expected. One ending in a controversial draw, perhaps.

I am not so sure after Mungia almost lost to Sergiy Derevyanchenko

no he's terrible. ryder was a human punch bag just like he was vs canelo. mungia couldnt even beat dervychenko who was moving up in weight and considered over the hill.

Maybe. Canelo looks like a fighter without much fire still burning.

I don’t think he does. I don’t think Canelo thinks he does either.

That's why Alvarez chose him. I hope the kid surprises him.

NSAC shuts down Jaime Munguia as replacement opponent for Gennady Golovkin

Golovkin will have to pitch a higher quality opponent to the Nevada commission

mungia went from being a tune up opponent for ggg to landing a canelo fight. thats great matchmaking by team mungia after great luck that nsac saved mungias career. to steer a very average fighter for 6 years and get him a canelo fight is commendable, i mean terrible for boxing but for their own personal satisfaction and pocketbooks its great. it took 6 years of finding the right opponents, getting gift decisions against guys named dennis hogan, etc...and they finally arrived
