Stanionis has been associated with Ennis as potential fight since time immemorial. They've been paired by almost everyone, casuals, hardcores, on twitter, youtube, you name it. Yet no effort was made to get it done. Just proves again you can scream to high heavens all day everyday in any forum, social media, etc., and it won't make any difference. That's why it's comical when posters in this forum argue endlessly blaming one another why such and such fight is objected / approved. Promoters, fighters, managers will make fights they want to make, not what fans want.

It's difficult because there isn't the same network support or exposure to build fighters anymore. Amazon opened to the PBC but Al has a giant stable and the agreement/guarantees aren't anything like Showtime. DAZN blew though billions and TR is on tight budget since Disney. All of the network buyouts used borrowed money and like ToysRus, they're choking on the debit. Think of it this way, boxing is the middle class and their pay is shrinking while everything else gets more expensive.

One of those Ortiz fights got cancelled the day before the MF fight.
Yeah I know but he’s gotta have some blame for not taking on anybody throughout the years
I’m sure he’s taken step aside money also
Anyway not the point , he needs to worry about himself and stay busy
Even if it’s some fight that we can laugh about , at least he’s not wasting away

This is sad. A man who wants to fight isn't given any fights. Al Haynon needs to do better than this.

So many belts...So many weight classes. So little matches. Boxing.

That's why rabid fans of overhyped fighters will never make sense accusing fighters like Stan avoiding fights just to overhyped their fighters even more. I suspect Stan will probably end up fighting high-risk, low reward, another 2nd-tier Kavaliauskas who is also desperate for fights.
He'll most likely end up fighting the Mean Machine, who nobody wants because of the risk involved and with little reward. Meanwhile, Ennis will be fighting Crowley, the least known welter who is barely featured in this site.

Dude got over $40M for his last 2 fights combined.......

Mfers get a WiFi connection and just say anything.

Crawford spent 5 years chasing a unification bout vs ANY of the PBC champions.......during that time he was ridiculed and belitttled as if he was some newbie trying to get in the ring with people he didn't deserve a shot against. Now he finally accomplishes his goal and is looking for a huge payday due to the work he put in and he's being chastise for holding up other fighters. Where is all the complaining about Canelo who has baby sat his titles for God knows how long, not to face the best available, but a big name whom he has a huge upside over.

Canelo should be in the ring vs Crawford or Benavidez.....PERIOD. Now all of a sudden he wants to honor mandatory bouts....but he wouldn't do that when either Charlo, Boo Boo, or Heard was young and hungry. He was playing hop scotch with the divisions. Fought old man Kovelev. Eventually even fighting Amir Khan......but he claims there's nothing to gain from fighting a 2x Undisputed champ in Bud Crawford.

When was the last time Stanionis has gotten in the ring to show he deserves a shot at anything? He and Boots irritate me because both complained about not getting the opportunity when opportunities have been available for both to be successful. Hell, they could have fought each other.

Crawford should state his intentions or vacate, these guys should have an opportunity

                      1. The PBC never got Plant a fight with Canelo. Canelo's team dictated to PBC who Canelo would fight and Plant just happened to be white, Charlo black, and both beatable. The PBC went along with Canelo's wish list because the PBC made money.
                      2. The PBC doesn't give a shyt what race or religion a fighter is, but they do understand leverage and they allow surrogates to play to a loud, loyal racist base much the way Trump allows a certain group to thrive because he understands leverage. Are they racist? No, it's a means to an end goal and neither give a shyt about anyone but themselves and their money. People call Bob and Eddie whores because they can't hide it, to them it's just business, but make no mistake there's no daylight between DAZN, TR or Al's PBC.

I apologize for the last one, it may be a little tough to accept but some day you'll pull back and honestly see things for what are and not what you want them to be. Most things in America are a business, there are no good guys or bad guys just guys looking out for themselves. Every once in a while a fighter comes along with the idea of being the best and the powerful use them until they're either burned out or turn as cynical as the business they are in.
PBC put Plant into that position for Canelo, just Crowley is in position to fight for IBF title, and Stanionis is in position to fight for the WBA title. Trump is racist and dangerous. Of course he's all about himself, but he exposed himself a long time ago when he commented on the Central Park Five! Charlotresville was the icing on the cake! Now he's intentionally using Hitler references, to appeal to the Neo-**** Far Right! You're right about "no daylight," and ive been trying to point that out, but for some reason, many on here have a problem seeing this, and I have my su****ions why that is!
