I'm not saying they were. I'm refuting the idea that fighting Benavidez is a legacy defining fight for Canelo. Canelo should fight him over other lesser options, like a catchweight with Crawford, but he's not a legacy fight at this point. He's only 27 years old.

When u say Canelo is great, u must not only take into account his long running strategy of picking old faded champs on their way out, like cotto, mosley, kovalev, jacobs, etc, light punching runners, like saunders, and plant, smaller guys moving up like Charlo and Amir Khan, British euro punching bags like Yildirim, Ryder, the Smith brothers, & Rocky Fielding, slow Mexican punching bags like Chavez jr and Angulo, trying to age guys out like GGG, u also have to take into account all his fights that had catchweight clauses, and u come away with the notion that Canelo loves an uneven playing field stacked in his favor. Then when u look at how he was caught dirty with Steroids in his body and he blamed it on tacos in Mexico, u really have to conclude he's not as great as ppl say he is. Then look at how he fought many Mexicans, but they had to be smaller or slow, then he says i won't fight Mexicans because I represent Mexico. But then he refuses to fight Benavidez, who is Mexican, but tall and fast. So what he meant to say was, he won't fight a tall, fast, dangerous Mexican. Because guess what? Him and canelo have one common opponent who David beat by decision and canelo KOd and btw canelo KOd plant like a year and half before Benny beat him by decision so benevidez got him after he’d been KOd he should’ve had an easier time finishing him. I’m just stating facts. The fight is closer than u think. I lean benevidez to win by decision cause he bigger younger but canelo is better defensively better ring IQ it really is a faboulous fight. A true 50/50. The more I talk about it the more I want to see it lol

You don't seem to understand that using the triangle theory on who knocked out the common opponent is literally the dumbest level of analysis possible. It means nothing. Mungia knocked out Ryder easily while Canelo couldnt. I guess using your logic, Mungia is better than Canelo.

yes I do think Canelo steam rolls Benavidez, that’s why I’m hoping the fight is made this year, before Canelo gets too old.

why he holding out you ask? Idk? Maybe a fight of that magnitude or that demand, he’s holding out for a sh.it ton of money. Much like many others have held out over the years. Chasing a payday to me is wasting his time when he could of made Canelo look even dumber by moving on
