I’m sorry but that’s what Mayweather should’ve done to McGregor

He's also 250+ lbs, in his prime and has concussive power in both hands.

So it's just a matter of context.

Floyd at 40 years with the extremely brittle hands he has, combined with not being a puncher at WW at all is not going to knock out a 170ish lb man out in a couple rounds.

He knew Conor was dangerous early on. Many people can't accept how good Conor looked so invent the excuse of Floyd carrying Conor.
All you have to do is look at how Floyd fought. He wasn't being careful at all, he had his hands down and he was walking forward. He didn't even do that against light punchers when he was serious.

I hate Floyd. I rooted against him in nearly all of his fights. But the McGregor fight was a sideshow and anyone who puts too much stock in it is kidding themselves.

        .
he actually had his hands up in a high guard and walked forward once Conor was gassed.

No it didn’t. Mayweather should’ve destroyed McGregor in similar fashion and you know it. If he did, you wouldn’t have been surprised. You would’ve likely said “I knew he would do that”.

Terrible logic. Mayweather isn't a heavyweight.

Floyd had two KO's in his career at 147 - Ortiz (quit) and Hatton (moving up from 140).

Mayweather-Mcgregor was at 154 and Conor was probably 170lbs on fight night.

Stop making excuses. Just leave it at “Mayweather doesn’t like taking risks.”

              And that’s it.

The weight excuses, the age, McGregor’s boxing skills, etc.

Mayweather just didn’t take chances. Had he gone out there and let his hands go immediately looking for the KO, he would’ve gotten McGregor out of there in 2-3 rounds.

              He could’ve, but he didn’t.

Your reaching, nobody expected Floyd to walk him down flat footed high guard, you could have offered me 100 to 1 for that happening and I would not put a dollar on it, then add the logic from hindsight its easy to see why it went down the way it did, youre idea of should have is irrational when you look at all the facts.

So? Mayweather was much older and smaller, came off a 2 year inactivity and still stopped conor.

I don't know why you're struggling with this if I'm being honest, it's not a difficult concept.

It's not excuses it's just the facts of the matter and a very basic explanation as to why it didn't and wouldn't happen that way, to which you're just putting your fingers in your ears and shouting in response.

Why make a thread when your mind is just made up anyway? You may as well keep it to yourself.

You can't logically compare a prime, 250+ lb, concussive power puncher to a 40 year old, brittle hand, zero killer instinct, none power puncher.

It's night and day and if Floyd could have, he would have. But that's just not in him at that point.
