I’m sorry but that’s what Mayweather should’ve done to McGregor

I don`t feel that way. Mayweather was 40 old retired boxer coming from a long layoff. He has never been big hitter at 147. He was fighting the guy at 154, if I am not mistaken.

Joshua is an active heavyweight with a huge power in both hands, he is still in his prime.

When fans were talking about how Pac KO’ed Hatton, DLH and Cotto, I said styles make fights and Mayweather still schools Pacquiao. That was my opinion then. No Mayweather fan went against me or demanded I change my opinion. And I still feel that way.

Now my opinion is that Mayweather should’ve pushed hard to destroy McGregor, an MMA fighter, in a couple of rounds. Mayweather vs McGregor should have looked like Mayweather vs Manfredy.

Mayweather’s always been undersized. That was nothing new to him. He KO’ed many massive opponents (compared to him). Corrales, Manfredy, Ortiz, Hatton, Hernandez (to name a few) were all bigger than Mayweather on fight night by 15+ or more. And these were actual professional boxers.

Mayweather should have tried harder in that fight. That was a damn MMA fighter with 0 pro fights for god’s sake.
And youre entitled to your opinion, if the majority see it as wrong for the many reasons listed and you reject it all that's the end of it, nobody that logically thinks different to you on this is going to change their mind to something that is illogical in the real world of action, Mayweather won the fight and stopped him which is all he is required to do and more because he stopped him, its like a racehorse wins the race with ease and your complaining that he wasn't in front on the first turn, I really don't see where your coming from it doesn't make any logical sense to me, there are just too many reasons why he didn't.

Mayweather was not that sort of a fighter. Especially during the 'Money' phase. One of the reasons he was disinclined to fight outside of his home city, I believe, is that his ultra-defensive, henpecking style wouldn't have got as much favourable treatment from judges.

Its always favourable with the judges no matter where you are if they cant hit you and you hit them. you always seem to paint a narrative that's twisted, its like you have only seen a select few of his fights, lots of fights he is right in front of them and still beats them its called counter punching, you gotta be in punching range for it to work.

You staked out your position quite clearly last time when you lost your temper and started calling me names. There's nothing further for you and I to discuss on this subject.

It’s a boxing forum. There’s no criteria on what boxing opinions/comments or questions one can post.

It could be a hot take, unpopular opinion, popular opinion, concern, question, whatever.

There’s no criteria, other than it has to be on topic (boxing).

Also “or even discussing them”. We are discussing the topic. It’s a discussion thread about an opinion. It’s being discussed.

Listening to alternative viewpoints…I am reading them, i’m responding to them, I don’t agree with them, i’m countering them.

Not agreeing with you or telling you “oh damn, you’re right, i’m wrong sir!” Doesn’t mean i’m not reading people’s viewpoints.
                It's just ****** though isn't it

Nobody cares about your opinion on it. I guess you can shout into an echo chamber if you so please but it seems a tedious and pointless task to post on a discussion board then when essentially told why you're wrong about it to put your fingers in your ears and shout is just kind of childish and pointless.

But I suppose it's each to it's own.

You've been given the logical answer as to why Mayweather didn't knock him out in a 2 rounds, you don't agree. Nice one. Thread over I guess

Floyd doing this to Connor would’ve spared the forum days of idiotic posts about Conor exposed Floyd, boxing suffered, Conor won, etc etc.

Of course. But with all things considered that was never going to happen and Floyd knew that and had no care. All he cared about was the money and I don't blame him really.

Floyd barely stopped people early as a 130 lber where he actually was a decent puncher, didn't have brittle hands and wasn't massively outweighed by everyone.

The one early stoppage he has is Manfredy and that probably didn't need to be stopped then really. Stopped on his feet either way. Even at 130 he stopped people in their feet usually and wasn't a concussive, one punch kind of guy.

There's nothing to suggest that version of Floyd would blast out McGregor in a round, MMA fighter or not. It's just not logical.

Lots of people getting sore in this thread. If I got it correctly, TS is simply saying McGregor in his first boxing bout should not have lasted 3 rounds at most.
