It looks like Madrimov has stopped with the unnecessary movement. Looks like a beast without it.

He didn't need the movement because Kurbanov tends to stand his ground. He may need it for other opponents though.

Is it just me or is neither Kurbanov or Madrimov THAT impressive? Don't get me wrong, Madrimov is fighting well but with 3 vacant belts and Tim Tszyu as the only legit champion, it's arguably the WEAKEST division in boxing.

You've got fairly high standards. Madrimov has shown some defensive weakness in the past against classic boxers but he looked pretty damn sharp today from my angle.

Better to have the tool and not need it than need it and not have it. He didn't need to work from southpaw or use shifts this fight either, but he's got them in the toolbox.

Really curious about this one, don't know how much Vargas has left, but he has a ridiculous height and reach advantage over Ball

Ball is non-stop, curious if he will have the quality at this level to pull out a clear points decision

Bit of an early stoppage from the ref, but Kurbanov was definitely hurt and a big punch or two away from a big KO. Great performance from Madrimov

Kurbanov just was not competing. He was taking hard shots and would've only gotten seriously hurt if it went on. I could see why someone my call it a quick stoppage, but Kurbanov seemed more than fine with it. He looked hurt and overwhelmed.

Agreed...I can see Madrimov being outboxed by a classic boxer plus Kurbanov was pretty underwhelming tonight and looked disinterested in the fight. Still, cong**** to Madrimov for taking him out and getting the job done.

Vargas' height/reach is only an advantage if Ball allows it to be. He needs to keep Vargas under pressure every minute of every round.
