Honest question. What is it about Canelo that makes him so popular?

In his case he put the time and think hard work in Boxing is different than other sports, he was well matched, fought often and filled a void when his most famous countrymen were winding down, and of course floyd was in his last leg. The thing is he was given the opportunity to take the torch, opportunity he doesn't want to give back.

Show me how this "favoritism" worked for him. Give some examples. Show me how he was/is any different from others when he was starting out.

Not sure if you're deliberately being naive or not.

To fight frequently you need the right management/promotional team behind you pulling the strings. Post pandemic most fighters were just content being able to fight once in the year meanwhile Canelo was getting the luxury of fighting 3-4 times in the year. It was exclusively a privilege Canelo was getting and should not be labelled as some sort of achievement.

What opportunity? He didn't win and no torch was passed. His career should have ended by today's standard. He moved on. He genuinely thought he could win that fight not so much about getting longer vacations. And he didn't wait around. He was active while waiting.

What can you say about the guys who lost to Canelo? Where are they now? They were given opportunity to take the torch as you were saying here. Where are they? Why didn't they become Canelo?

Show me. You can lie to yourself all you want, but I think it's best to keep it to yourself. Show me some examples of the favoritism you're talking about.

If you think Canelo hasn't been shown favoritism, that's on you.

People will always nitpick. And TBF, he's feeding that with his current attitudes. But he's got a great resume, one of the best of any active champion. Look at your own favorite fighter and look at how many champions they have on their resume, regardless of nitpicking. They'll likely come up way short.

I'm in the camp that he sure looks like he's ducking his top contenders. But that doesn't change his resume, nor does second guessing them. Everyone doing that hasn't won a single world title themselves in anything. Should tell you everything.

                    I stand corrected. Thanks!

I'm serious. I want to know what and how this favoritism works in this sport. Show me how it works.
