I grew up in a fight town and I've been watching boxing for about 40+ years and, in fairly even odds fights, I'm lucky if I'm hitting at a 50% success rate.

As a previous poster said, I'm not terribly impressed with either fighter but I think Ford will prevail.

Therefore, I expect that Kholmatov will ultimately fall short just like his fellow countryman Ergashev did at the hands of the underrated Matias. Ford by decision but I wouldn't rule out a late stoppage either.
Feels good getting another prediction SPOT ON...told ya I'm right 80% of the time but kudos to Kholmatov who fought extremely well until he got reckless and ultimately fell short just like I predicted

Man, we got it perfect... but would you believe that, after all the talk, ultimately I didn't bet on the outcome? Someone should kick my balls.

Hahaha...I bet you weren't regretting that decision until the last 20 secs of the fight though! Khomlatov surprised me and boxed extremely well (I had him up heading into the last round) but his tendency to fight wild got the better of him and Ford made him pay. Still, kudos to Ford for pulling through like a real champion and getting the job DONE.

I just read about Kholmatov possibly having fought a good chunk of the fight with a torn ACL... if that's the case, huge hats off to him. He had earned my respect during the fight, but if he really fought with such an injury, he's superhuman. It's a shame that, as good as he is, this kind of loss might have ruined him. Physically, and mentally as well.

Agreed...Meldrick Taylor was NEVER the same fighter after the Chavez loss either although I don't buy the torn ACL excuses. There's just no way that somebody could move around with so much balance, bounce etc for 12 rounds with such an injury. Still, it was a fantastic performance up until the final 20 secs of the fight but unfortunately he got too reckless and paid the ultimate price.
