Supposedly Benavidez has one fight left on his contract....if true, he needs to start shopping around for a new promoter/network. PBC was gonna let Canelo milk their budget dry, without even agreeing to fight one of their upcoming stars.
That was actually a good deal to get Canelo. Pretty sure they knew this could happen but went for it anyway.

I don’t blame him for turning down Charlo.

It seems ****** for PBC to try and pull a bait-and-switch so they could manufacture a social media soap opera. Is any of this gonna make Benavidez a bigger star? Is this actually gonna make people buy his next PPV fight? What would make Benavidez a bigger star is fighting Canelo, which they did not prioritize when they had Canelo at the negotiating table. Canelo willingly came over to PBC/SHO for Plant, but now he pulled the A-side card because he has all the leverage. Benavidez needs to become a free agent ASAP because the only relevant opponent PBC has is Morrell...and Benavidez seems to be avoiding him anyway. PBC also has no contenders at 175. Benavidez should go up and beat Gvozdyk, then go fight the Beterbiev/Bivol winner on another platform.

Yeah it’s crazy they didn’t include that as the 3rd fight of the contract. It’s like they didn’t learn from DAZNs mistake of giving Canelo free rein over opponent choice and then trying to push/turn down certain guys.

Promoters trying to get done what the WBC is supposed to force.

            At least they tried.

We pretty much have confirmation he will never fight Benavidez.

Bivol/Beterbiev is out of the question as well.

When Mayweather became the A-Side, he took full advantage of his power. Floyd should've warned Haymon that this was coming, especially after Canelo had to go over to SHO to face Plant. If Canelo/Benavidez ever does happen, it will probably be on DAZN.

I'm pretty sure they knew Canelo wouldn't sign if he was part of the deal. So they sign him anyway they can and try to negotiate with him down the line. Obviously down the line didn't work. But you take any shot at signing Canelo.

They've signed him before in the past (PBC) and he went back to Matchroom.

                  He don't wanna fight David

Everyone is making shit up and making their own unsubstantiated narrative. One Ytube clickbaiter says Haymon offered $60 million. That's how crazy these people have become.

Margarito is a bad example, since he was caught cheating with loaded wraps. Who knows how many bouts he fought like that?
