This isn't a loss that should kill Tszyu, but it definitely feels like a must-win because of Crawford's looming shadow. Tszyu needs to win in order to keep that legacy fight alive because it's the only one near his weight class. Cynicism warning: I'm glad this isn't for the WBO title. If there's one guy that I wouldn't want to have a belt, it's Thurman. His inactivity/injury-proneness and entitlement makes him extremely unreliable. If Tszyu loses, he's way more likely to defend the title again before year's end with no drama. If Thurman won the title, we'd be worried about when his next fight would be.

This is a must-win for Thurman because he refuses to accept a role as gate-keeper. Losing to Tszyu would turn him into one.

Thurman is still living off his win of shawn porter, that was 8 ***ing years ago at this point. he has been shot for quite some time. Tszyu is going to run through him and stop him. Tszyu keeps on winning, people have been saying he is overhyped for years now but nobody has beat him and charlo dropped his belt instead of fighting him. Tszyu had a lot to live up to, people were always going to complain if he wasnt as good as his dad. being that charlo ducked him i dont know what else he could have done different that what hes already done.

With Keith's long inactivity, he'll be far too rusty to try to **** out Tszyu early. If anything, given Thurman's age and ring rust, Tim will be the one better-served to try to **** out Keith, before he warms up and gets into a groove.

Tszyu typically doesn't start fast though. He builds up momentum throughout the fight, gradually chipping away at the opponent until they shatter. He makes the opponent feel his presence. If Thurman can, he should try to take advantage of the slow start. Maybe Thurman doesn't need to go for the KO early, but he needs to land something that makes Tszyu second-guess. Thurman needs to find a way to break Tszyu's confidence and composure early. Thurman shouldn't start the fight off sticking and moving.

Odd to see him coming out in favor of Thurman in any way.
He’s trying to sell the fight to people outside the sport.

Tszyu is going to murk Thurman rather easily.

I think Tszyu should be favored, considering Thurman's inactivity, but if I happen to be in Vegas between now and the fight, I'll drop $100 on Keith at about 7-1.

Looking at Boxrec Keith has had 17 fights above 147, and 14 at 147 or below.
                When was that?

I honestly don't think Keith comes out swinging. His timing will likely be off, and he'll have to find his bearings against a naturally bigger, younger, active Tszyu. If Tim recognizes this and attacks early enough, Thurman won't even have time to warm up.

Nobody outside the sport cares about boxing

If Thurman can take this guy's punch, all your best made cherrypicking goes out the window
