I still think the extreme coddling of the undefeated* boxing business left by Mayweather is what overall weakened US boxing scene as a whole. Crawford-Spence should've been 6 years ago with a rematch 5 years ago. Tank/Haney/Teo should've fought eachother while at lightweight 2 years ago. Charlo should've been long stripped but that is besides the point.

The lower third of the weightclass has always been mostly dominated by Asia(Japan, PI, Thai) and Mexico and going finely unrelated to the golden zero business.

That may be true but from a media point of view Americans still get far too much attention. Instead of concerning themselves with what a semi-retired prima donna like Crawford intends to do no next, non-US media should be raising the profile of non-US prospects and contenders.

I don't buy that. This survey, the most comprehensive of the slew of such lists, in terms of wide data collection, places boxing as the number 4 most followed sport in the US today.
The only 3 sports ranked higher are purely American home grown sports, American Football, Basketball and Baseball, and two of those have rather limited geographical presence outside the US.

With the United States home to just 4.23% of global population, but owning a staggaring 31.2% of all global wealth; it stands to reason that being the 4th most followed sport in that country is a pretty big deal, even if Americans themselves have no trouble at all finding a good paying job that's a damm sight easier to master than Professional Boxing is.

so who buys all the boxing ppvs in america then? latino and AA fans are probably the best fans in boxing as far as i can see & they support their own guys for the most part, which would be normal for fans in geographical areas of course

Beterbiev I can see doing that but Bivol would be to small imo
Plus I’m in total disagreement that an mma guy gets a title shot if he wins his fight
These were all demands from his excellency
