It was a close fight in which I thought Teo won just as I predicted he would some several weeks ago. However, nevertheless; I still thought his performance was both lackluster and uneven. His stock has significantly plummeted due to this display.

Now I can see why Teo and his dad are still ducking Devin Haney; Even to this day because he has trouble with pure boxers. Haney would pick him apart if they ever decided to fight.

Teo is a natural counterpuncher. Therefore, he needs fighters who are going to take risks and bring the fight to him like a Lomachenko, Josh Taylor and a Subriel Matias would.

Also, judging by this action; Hell no! He is not ready for a Terence 'Bud' Crawford fight.

That fight did not make me want to watch either fighter's next fight. Only thing I learned was that Crawford would KO Teo and he could do it fighting the same way Ortiz did.

That's the problem you did everything you could do, and you still weren't skilled enough to cut off the ring on Ortiz.
You're asking how can you lose a round when your opponent doesn't want to compete/fight?
You lose the round by your opponent out boxing you, getting you frustrated, making you miss, tagging you here, and there, getting held, and hit.
After the fight you said that nobody want's to fight you, you're wrong Teofimo, after this lousy performance, there going to be knocking down the door to fight you!
Devin Haney would box ring's around you, Subriel Matias , and Gervonta 'Tank' Davis would knock you out!!!

I didn't see the whole fight. I watched two rounds and couldn't watch anymore. It was that lousy.

Lol that’s exactly what I did. I watched the first two rounds and could already tell how it was going to go so I turned it off. If I’m ESPN I’m fuming at Top Ran - second straight time in months that the network has aired a heavily hyped midweek fight to tie into a big event in Las Vegas and the main event fighters put on horrible performances.

Ortiz landed the clearer shots but threw so lil punches you thought deontay wilder coached them. Lopez is a hype job never seen someone in boxing or MMA that's a huge hit or miss. 1 fight teofimo looks like an all-star the next he looks worse than a gatekeeper

As Theshotyoudontsee mentioned, I also noticed the ESPN crew often ignored clean shots landed by Ortiz. It's not something new (and it's something unique to ESPN). I thought about muting the commentary (would have spared me hearing Bradley) and should have.

As for the scores, it gets tiring watching the same judges favor the A-side regardless of style. Weisfeld and Cheatham had Shakur beating DLS 116-112. Maybe they don't like ineffective aggression? Weisfeld had Teo win 117-111 and Cheatham had it 115-113. The only consistency is that they look to favor the A-side.

Fight Matias next and all is forgotten and he has a guy right in front of him, that's all he got do is stay away from fast footwork.

Not only was he unable to cut off the ring, he had no jab, was relying on one-dimensional body shots that only landed 1/3 of the time, and every time he baited Ortiz into playing the inside game (which was rare to be fair), he would get pieced up.

He got outboxed something awful.
