During his "peak" most of his opposition was old past it fighters (povetkin, pulev, wlad, ect) his resume and skills have always been overrated.
The Ruiz loss is nowhere near as significant as you think. He avenged it quickly. Just as plenty of Champions before him did when they inevitably got shocked.
He's objectively one of the best over the last 20 years.

Wlad
AJ
Vitali
Fury
Usyk
Wilder
But he fought valiantly - twice - against Usyk, and that's a point many tend to overlook following his famous rant.

I was keen on Fury when he came back from drugs and depression to handle Wilder without problems in their first fight. But the way he behaved in the subsequent years has really turned me off. The passing of time is gradually giving you a reason to affirm that AJ is superior to Fury in most aspects.

Everyone knows Anthony Joshua's level in the sport, Joshua has been thoroughly tested 'And it is official, Anthony Joshua has been consistently a World level and once upon a time a Elite level Heavyweight within this era of Heavyweights'.
Anthony Joshua has beaten every single fighter, he has ever faced expect Oleksandr Uysk 'People may mock him for his loss to Ruiz Junior, but he avenged that loss'.
Note: The fall-out your are talking about, are just opportunist trying to knock somebody when they are vulnerable or they suffer a loss. It is the opportunist who time and time again, THEY are the people who get exposed.
We see them all the time in life and sport, switching their loyalty's up real quick and betraying themselves. To align with whoever and whatever is dominating or popular within the status quo. They are the people that get exposed most of all in a sport like boxing, way more than the fighters in my opinion.
People know Joshua's level, he has been one of the more component and solid Heavyweights of this era 'And he has actually overachieved in the sport' etc.

You say he was tested i say right place right time considering most of the "elites" he beat was over the hill by the time he got to them not saying he's a bum either hes a good fighter but i would never class him as the best of this era.

I think Fury is more naturally talented but hes also undisciplied, unprofessional and a lying dodgy ****head. AJ is basically a workmanlike fighter with solid power, size and athleticism, but hes always in shape and for all the criticism hes had over the years he fought the most consistently decent level of opposition out of him, Fury and Wilder. I also think he deserves credit for being the initial reason the HW division started gaining some commercial appeal again. Lets face it nobody really cared when Fury beat Wlad in a snoozefest and "retired", and Wilder was in obscurity fighting cans in Alabama for ****ing years on end. Both of those guys mainly got popular through attaching their name to AJs.
