The WBC is a joke. This fight makes no sense for a championship but they sanction it, Beterbiev-Bivol makes total sense but they don't want to sanction it over some political situation that the fighters have nothing to do with and the list goes on and on

The WBC has become as big a joke as the WBA. Fundora got knocked out in his last fight. And Bohachuk has never beaten anybody of note, getting stopped by ordinary Brandon Adams along the way. I say this all the time...these alphabet belts have become totally meaningless.

Champ in recess is a strip. The winner of this fight becomes the full champ, and the champ in recess is entitled to a shot at whoever is the current champion if they return. It's what should have happened to Mall a long time ago.
