The problem was the second Ruiz fight, he won it though boxing and moving to protect his chin. It made him think he was a stick and move fighter and negated his strengths. Ben Davison refining his original form is definitely the way forward.

And just logically it doesn't make a lot of sense to switch a guy up this late in his career. So I see why AJ talks about this like he does. AJ reached the top spot with all his flaws already. You don't gotta reinvent the wheel to get him back there & idek if you got the time to reinvent the wheel for AJ this late in his story.
When AJ lost to Ruiz it was due to a ****** tactical mistake.
All that needed to be learned from that was don't rush in and recklessly start exchanging with a short guy with fast hands.
Like that's it, one lesson.
But no they tried to change everything that worked about him before.
Ben has the right idea.

Joshua became far less cavalier in his approach to attack. Clearly, he changed. Your attempt to talk about degradation is sophistry.Last edited by Monty Fisto; 01-27-2024, 02:35 PM.

Joshua is the person who changes his style, by hopping around from trainer to trainer. Same with cryin' Ryan. These guys are boxing whores

Joshua needs to get back to being the hammer in his fights, he's too cautious and over thinks things right now, I'm seeing positive changes under Davidson but Wallin wasn't enough of a test.
