I love Beterbiev but he lands illegal punches

I must be missing something, but when I see Beterbiev land, it seems like he's always landing on the back of the head. It's too consistent for it to be a "mistake". Look at the Joe and Callum Smith knockdowns. The shots that put them down are around the back side of the head. Does he train to land on the back of the head and are these legal shots? Imo, Beterbiev vs Bivol is 50 50.

I saw maybe one illegal shot in the back of the head unless someone could show and post the gifs. The real problem is why the ref didn't stop it earlier when Smith was already bending down the waist and not doing anything.

Behind the ear shots are completely legal i dont see the point of people calling it out.
As for the behind the head, its on you if you put your back of the head in the way of punches
