  • Comments Thread For: WBC Explains Their Position on 'Atypical Findings' in Artur Beterbiev's VADA Tests

The World Boxing Council has issued their position with respect to the ongoing controversy surrounding the anti-doping tests performed on unified light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev - in connection with Saturday's mandatory defense against Callum Smith in Quebec, Canada.

If atypical findings were due to natural levels, wouldn't past tests have shown the same? How much can HGH and testosterone fluctuate within a couple fights? Honestly, why even announce the levels if he didn't fail the test? People are going to run with whatever narrative they want and he'll always be surrounded by a PED cloud now.

This is incredible. Imagine getting accused of using PEDs after testing negative. It's ludicrous that the WBC and others have to come out and clear a persons name who tested negative.

And of course, there'll be clowns like T.M.T who come on here and call an innocent man guilty. I won't be surprised if a civil action is brought against Eddie Hearn for defamation of character.

From other reports, atypical findings are common. You never hear about them because they are irrelevant and not mentioned. Eddie Hearn has known about this test result for well more than a month, but the day before the fight, he decides to mention it. He's trying to use this as a way to making himself out to be a victim with Connor Ben's positive test results, that there's a double standard. The difference, of course, is that one guy actually tested positive and Beterbiev tested negative.

Pretty much the froid-pac situation. Pacquiao came out clean meanwhile froid got caught masking and his idiot fangirls still say pac was the one on roids

Yep. I'm not a scientist in this matter, but I imagine just about ALL boxers who are subject to VADA testing show atypical findings.

Yes, Hearn knew full well that further investigative testing had taken place and Artur was cleared, yet he made a public statement asking for more answers. I don't know if he's looking for sympathy for Benn. I think it's more that he's making up a pre-excuse for what he knows will be Smith's total destruction at the hands of Beterbiev. Now, I'm beginning to see what people mean by calling Eddy a snake.

I'd like to hear from VADA directly on how often atypical results are found. The WBC isn't a credible source. They won't sanction a fight with a Russian fighter....unless that Russian fighter is Canadian. Also, drugs are bad 'mkay...unless it's their champion and the results are just atypical.
