You are right, however how many guys are running to fight him?
We don’t know what happens behind closed doors and I think fighters know who they can’t beat or will not rush to take on a risky fight early in their careers.

What I agree with most is, Boots needs to be very vocal and crash every fight challenging everyone and anyone.

I get that ... But I feel he should just keep knocking off bums keeping his name out there. He needs to to stay active applying pressure to the division. Imo

Any idea whether there's expiration date in a rematch clause? I don't see any sense of urgency not only on Spence but also Crawford. My question seems irrelevant.

So there were plenty of opportunities and time for him to move up to 168 to challenge Ward. Golovkin was not facing any memorable or elite fighters either until the Danny Jacobs fight in 2017.

Boots wanted Crawford. In fact, he was Crawford's mandatory. How is that any different frim Golovkin wanting Cotto or Martinez? For the record, I don't think Crawford is afraid of Boots but it doesn't change the fact that it's not Boots fault that it didn't happen.
I disagree but I don’t feel like arguing ancient history. For the sake of keeping it short, the only time there was ever a rumbling of a possible Ward Golovkin fight, Ward was not active due to his promotional dispute. He didn’t return til some time after & it was at lhw.

and Ward is just one guy. Again my point was there wasn’t loads of talent at 160 or 168. Golovkin fought who he could and was entertaining in doing so. I’m not some hardcore GGG fanboy that’s gonna try to convince you the guys a first ballot hall of famer.

I'm not gonna pretend I was at the negotiating table. Just seems likely it was coming from Mr A-side Spence, or even more likely, got inserted on his behalf by Haymon. No clue if there's an expiration date. There probably is because there usually is, but yeah. No urgency from anyone there.

Won't make any sense not putting a deadline on a rematch clause. It's not fair for the winner. But in this case Crawford doesn't seem to mind letting Spence take his time because Bud himself is not excited to go back in the ring. Plus it's taking the pressure off to fight other fighters like Ennis. It's working for him. It's pretty clear Bud Crawford can ignore the rematch and declare it invalid if he wants to, then fight other fighters. But he doesn't want to.

Not rocket science is it? Not to mention Spence and Crawford only fight once a year, so there's no rush for them to make the rematch.

He tried. Crawford (the highest he could go) refused, Keef refused and Stankonia was (at the time) tied up with an Ortiz matchup.

Interesting part is Crawford can just sit pretty and doesn't have to do anything. Spence has the burden of making the rematch happen, which includes trying to convince Haymon to do it for him. Which may not be an easy task considering the lopsidedness of the first fight. If it can't happen, Crawford would just say, "So what?" Thus, for now TC must be enjoying the fact that he is not feeling any pressure, let the rematch talk float in the air as long as they want it to.
