Other then being too quick to break up inside fighting, I don't have any real complaints about him.

Is being a boxing referee a life risking occupation?

Baseless (I mean Bayless) is not getting the hate because of one particular fight or fighter. He gets the hate because he made it about him, he interfered with a lot of bouts, and he was clearly viewed as a corrupt official. He did more to ruin boxing than he helped it.

I'm so glad he didn't referee Gatti VS Ward I. That bout would never have made Fight of the Year.

            Good riddance!
I don’t mean gave his life as in “life risking”. I’m saying he dedicated himself to the sport. I’m never gonna hate on anybody like that. No matter where I stand if I like the person or not. Bayless was involved in dozens of notable fights. I’m just surprised at the disrespect from everyone. He’s not my top choice if I’m picking a ref for my big fight. But he’s not the worst either.

If you're allegedly corrupt, there isn't enough dedication or honor. He was appointed to officiate quite a number of fights by design. He irked me in just about every one of them.

If you got haters of this magnitude, it just means you were doing some’m right, brother
Actually it means he was incompetent biased and corrupt

73 years old is that correct? Looked and moved much younger than that.
