Either way, I blame Spence for all this fiasco and waste of time because he was delusional enough to activate the rematch clause to begin with. After his putrid ownage Spence should've accepted the fact that he's got absolute no chance of winning against Crawford in an immediate rematch, and just gone another route to prove he was still worth fighting again. And if it ends up not happening at all, then he never should've activated it to begin with because that way there was a possibility that Ennis got a chance to immediately negotiate a fight in the December-February time frame instead of Spence wasting it around.
What should've happened is that Spence realized he can't win an immediate rematch and don't activate rematch, instead goes up to 154 to fight Tszyu for a belt so he can prove that he is still worth a rematch unrelated to the clause. In the mean time Crawford fights Boots just to show him he's not ready yet, then vacates all the 147 belt to go up to fight the winner of Tszyu/Spence for the belt. If Spence had won, he would've been able to redeem himself and gotten his rematch. If he lost to Tszyu, then doesn't change the fact he was not worth fighting.
I mean, whether it happens/happened in December or February, and whether it be 147 or 154, do you personally see any sliver of a chance for Spence to win an immediate rematch after his beating? I saw ZERO, NADA, NOTHING.
