Do you think the greatest boxers in the sport never won any belts and didn't care about them?

Is Benavidez complaining that he's struggling to make weight and needs to move up, or is he calling out Canelo @ 168?
I'm not saying that belts don't matter. I'm saying having the WBC belt doesn't make you #1 in the division. Which should be ABUNDANTLY clear, unless you're an idiot.

Since you completely missed the point of the weight drain comment, I'm not going over it with you. Go back and reread. Your comprehension here is abysmal.

Sounds like Canelo and some of his fans are hoping 168 becomes too hard for Benavidez to make.

Coming at me with these weak ass insults will do you no good, pal. Talk about reading comprehension, you change my words around to fit your narrative. The bottom line is that you seem to not want to see Benavidez vs Canelo. I find that baffling.

I'm not taking heat off Floyd.

I said it STARTED with Leonard & it did.

He pulled BS on Hearns, Duran, and Hagler.

          That was the start.

Floyd took it to the next level.

Canelo took it to another level.

Now, Tank is going to make more money than anybody without having to ever fight anybody.

            Again, abysmal reading comprehension.

I literally said I DO want to see the fight. You've missed the point every time. Gaslighting when you're the one twisting words around doesn't change facts.

I said Benavidez has never been ranked number #1 by anyone who matters, eg Ring, BoxRec, or even ESPN, Combat Press, etc. You tried to pretend that being WBC champion somehow makes it so he's #1, even though he's never been #1 in any division ever in his life. I pointed out that being an alphabet champ doesn't mean you're the top guy in the division, which ought to be obvious. There's not much more to say here. That's all established fact.

That being said, if Canelo fights Munguía in May, that's a duck in my book. The only fights I'd accept without calling him a duck would be Morrell, if it gets ordered by the WBA, or the IBF mandatory if that gets ordered and the WBA doesn't. We do agree that Benavidez is the only truly relevant fight at 168, with the possible exception of Bivol at 168. If he's going to stay at 168, he needs to fight Benavidez or vacate and move to 175 or retire. No Munguía, no Berlanga, and no Crawford.

He’s more than earned it at this point. He’s earned more than the Charlo’s and who ever else he has in mind, assuming it’s not Benavidez. I can’t think of a bigger and better fight for Canelo.

I think Canelo beats Benavidez, it’s not a 50-50 fight, and only way Benavidez beats Canelo is if he got old and past his best.

If it was that easy Canelo would have fought him already. Also, Canelo has never had an easy time with any elite fighters. That sounds more like wishful thinking to me.

He has literally been rings ranked 1 at 168 for the last 3 years. You are totally clueless.

Blame sanctioning bodies for allowing certain fighters to handpick their opponents. They should all be on the same page with their rankings and enforcing mandatories. In Canelo’s defense he has taken on risky fights in his career…Floyd, GGG 3x, Bivol. He got a couple of gifts on the first two Golovkin fights, Lara, Trout, but he also faced a game though smaller Cotto, Saunders, Plant, and a past it Kovalev who still had a big punch. I’m thinking his fights for 2024 will be down to Munguia, Charlo or possibly Crawford or Spence on a long shot. I don’t think he fights Benavidez in ‘24.

He can do whatever he wants and yes the sanctioning bodies should start striping him then if he doesn't fight the highest rated fighter by consensus at 168, they won't though.
