Truth is Davis doesn’t need a title. Champions is something you strive for to gain popularity and fame, which then leads to bigger paydays. Davis is already at the pinnacle of the sport. Why pay sanctioning fees to some of the shady org when you’re already an established star.

This. Well said. When you have a name, you just don’t NEED a title. It’s better if fighters don’t adopt this mindset though as I long for the days when champions took on the up and coming contenders.
