Very good point. Don't forget Yoka accepted the fight but was contractually obligated to fight Bakole (who ended up beating him pillar to post), Zhang accepted it. The people that declined to fight him were fighters were guys looking for bigger purses.

Hrgovic deserves to be in the top-10 I guess. More of a statement on the over quality of depth in the heavyweight division. He could beat some of the guys in front of him but I've never seen him fight and been impressed.

Let's look at some facts that make me question his credentials:

      - He got a gift decision against Zhilei Zhang (this is not up for debate)

      His top 5 wins:
      • 22-0 Demsey McKean (TKO12) - a domestic-level Australian, whose greatest wins are against 13-4-1 Jonathan Rice or 42-year-old Victor Oganov who was coming off a 2-year layoff
      • 22-0 Marko Radonjic (RTD3) - the Euro trash opponents on his unblemished record have a combined record of 119-301-2
      • 23-2-1 Amir Mansour (KO3) - Mansour was 46 years old and hadn't fought in almost a year since pissing dirty
      • 10-0 Emir Ahmatovic (TKO3) - every opponent on his record had a losing record, besides 45-year-old Ruben Angel Mino, who hadn't fought in three years and had been knocked out early in his last 4 fights. Ahmatovic went on to get flattened by David Adelaye
      • 27-5 Eric Molina (KO3) - Molina was 37, coming off 1 fight in 2 years. Molina went on to get flattened by Fabio Wardley
Feel free to correct me if you think he has better wins than these.

Maybe you like his win over Rydell Brooker, who was inactive for a year and fought Hrgovic in the midst of going 3-6-1 in his last 10 fights...

Maybe you like his win over Gregory Corbin, currently 15-5 with his most notable wins boasting 14-8-3 and 2-1 records...
Booker was a former sparring partner and friend of Hrgovic from what I recall. Rydell put forth no effort whatsoever in his fight against the Croatian.

I had my reservations about Hrgovic earlier but the Ahmatovic fight was one I recall seeing and thinking that Hrgovic was over hyped. Emir landed some clean shots on Filip. Hrgovic showed no real head movement or defensive awareness against a club-level opponent en route to a 3rd round stoppage.

he lost to Zhang but he showed a granite chin in that fight tbh.

but stylistically, he beats Joshua and Wilder easily. So he's top notch.

He also beats Usyk very easy imo. just a horrible style-matchup.

IBF asked the guys who is willing to fight Hrgovic in IBF eliminator.

Parker: no, there is no money in fighting Hrgovic.
Hunter: No, I have other options.
Ruiz: no, I have other options.

Yoka and Bakole were scheduled to fight each other.

Now is Ruiz doing nothing, Hunter beat some bums, actually lost to Forrest and got lost. Only Parker has a career from these guys.

If I remember correctly Ortiz declined but fought Ruiz and Parker declined and fought Joyce. Nobody was willing to just admit that Hrgovic doesn't bring much money to the table at the time.

Not overly impressed by Hrgovic but at least comes to fight and does have a granite chin to help
Rather see him in action than DDD or Miller or a slew of other so called heavyweights

What are you basing this opinion on? What has he done in particular that makes you feel this way?

Wilder is a 220 heavyweight that got brutally KOed twice. His punch doesn't work against granite chins. He fought a superheavy with an ok beard and went 0-3 with 0 KOs. Hrg takes his punch and stops him.

                  Easy work for Hrg.

Joshua has a fragile mandible. Hrg can punch with both hands. he can easily stagger Joshua and stop him at any point.

Usyk is 1 punch away from a stoppage in any true HW fight. he lost against Dubois by KO in his last fight.

No idea. Probably cause he has a fancy name, but he’s a bum of a heavyweight

I don't think Hrgovic is that great either, but whose resume is all that in the heavyweight division? Curious what your metric is here. It's easy to trash the resume of any of the current heavies IMO. Heck, people on NSB trash the resumes of all the best active boxers, let alone contenders.
