There's others like Ugas who miraculously got Manny's title because of Decubas. And so on...

That's one of the best things about the IBF -- boxers not hooked up with major promoters can still get a shot at the title.Joe shmo likes this.

Since Spence wasn’t available, the next was Ugas, as interim. Manny ducked it to chase Cryan, a lightweight. The WBA stripped him, as they should have. Because it was a blatant duck.

“Cuban Yordenis Ugas was promoted to Welterweight Super Champion.
Pacquiao won the Super Champion belt in July 2019 when he defeated American Keith Thurman. However, he has not defended the belt since then.
As a rule, C.14 states, A. Boxers, their representatives, and promoters are obligated to “know and be familiar with all Associations rules. Rule C.13, B. A champion must remain active and regularly defend his title.
Within sixty (60) days of the mandatory defense period’s expiration, a champion is limited to fighting only a mandatory contender or leading available contender.
Rule C.27 states that A boxer’s title, status, or recognition may be lost, removed, or vacated for three reasons, loss in about, violation of the Association rules, or alleged criminal conduct found by a national agency.
Manny decided to chase a lightweight. They stripped his ass. Because that's ducking. And we know why he ducked Ugas - because as we saw later, Manny had no chance against Ugas. All wrong.
Remember, Charr and Shumenov were also stripped at the same time, that was not an attack on Manny. The difference is Shumenov was legit injured and COULDN'T defend. Charr and Manny were just ducking mandatories.Last edited by Combat Talk Radio; 11-22-2023, 09:56 AM.
