Lets remember: Adrien Broner was a multi weight champion! Meanwhile fighters like Ward fought in his division for years and cleaned it out... But I guess Broner is better?

The problems are real: Bud should have fought Spence earlier, should have been able to fight more often, the promoters encourage fighters to fight who they want the fighters to fight, not what is best for boxing and now? Truly! Bud has no reason to fight the young lions, the rising stars at one of the premier divisions in boxing. But I would tell people: If your saying "don't blame Crawford?" the same logic applies to Boots. Boots is talented, it is obvious, and lets look at Lennox lewis when he was faced with young, talented fighters like Briggs, what did he do?

For whatever reason Crawford is at the end of the line and it is alas... no benefit for him to fight out his division... the risk is real. And here we are, boxing fans, arguing, blaming Boots while Arum gets richer, and the judges decide who wins the fights.

I hope the Saudis do buy out the sport or something drastic like that happens, its not like the sport can possibly sink much if any lower from this point.

This is why Usyk is so great in my eyes he fought real killers all one after another at their peaks and cleaned his division in its entirety, until there was nobody left, there was not one fighter left people anyone could say he ducked or was a legitimate threat, then he moved up. Much, much harder than picking & choosing and waiting out fights. Love him or hate him, same with Ward. Both guys the best of the best & you can not talk the best SMWs or CWs without mentioning them, that is legacy.

Crawfords resume is full of shot & compromised fighters that have virtually all been beaten in much better fashion.
His second best win is a semi retired Shawn Porter who lost nearly every time he stepped up and we're acting like this guys great? Or has some great legacy?
History will remember him as nothing but a belt collector that has a paper thin resume & it'll simply highlight how far the sport has fallen and how easy it became to collect belts and even to unify.
An entitled cherrypicker who is exploiting a very broken system and biding his time to do against the weak links of the divisions.

His best wins/who he did fight:

Spence; Post car crash, inactive, coming off a career threatening surgery
Shawn Porter who had one foot out of the door and also hadn't fought in 15 months
Kavaliauskas - Coming off a terrible performance vs Ray Robinson & was smashed to bits by Ortiz shortly after

That is all boxing is in 2023, you get one win these days against a decent but well past it fighter and then they act entitled as hell while fans justify ****shows for countless years after. All the while ****ting on fighters like Haney, Canelo that do challenge themselves and regular fight the top fighters.

How can anyone act like this he has one win against a guy who was simply a corpse in there.
The best of his era, P4P what a joke. This is how low the bar is.
The best of his division? Yet he didn't fight Boots, Ortiz or Stanionis who for all we know may very well have been the actual 3 best.
Lmfao neither did booty. He never called out ortiz or stanoinis

They would have met if Vergil wasn't a weight bully and could actually make the weight without killing himself and got past Stanionis.
Hardly Boots fault Ortiz can't make weight. Boots did his part!

Boots wants Spence, Bud, Stanionis, Thurman or Barrios next. ANY/ALL of the top fighters.

Problem is fans will justify the likes of Bud ducking, Spence won't get by Crawford, Thurman will price himself out so it'll only leave two real fighters who aren't divas and they will **** on Boots no matter which one it is. Barrios isn't a threat & Stanionis hasn't fought in going on 2 yrs.

Every fan should be shouting they want Bud vs Boots before its too late.
Two undefeated knockout artists, the two best, most skilled, versatile fighters maybe at any damn weight. This is the best and most intriguing fight in the whole sport.
The skill, speed, precision would be off the charts instead they want to justify cowardice and will settle for Crawford moving up to fight a total punchbag who has zero chance and justify more belt collecting against weak links.

Health issues caused by over training and draining himself.

Not at all about the same really but Boots has the better win in Villa.

I'm sure they will meet eventually but Ortiz is already talking about moving up in weight again before he's even arrived at 154.

Let me repeat that again, one guy. Who so happens to be his best win on his resume. Or will his fans say go and really clean out the division and beat boots, Thurman and Virgil if he stays at 147 before he gets a pass to pick and choose? I really doubt it though.
Bud beat The Big Fish to become undisputed. Boots had a chance to fight Bud in late 2022, but hid behind Showtime loyalty. At this point, Crawford has earned the right to pursue the biggest checks. Screw Boots. Ortiz Jr. is never fighting at 147 again. His next fight is in January against some can at 154. Maybe Vergil can get the Tszyu fight in the Summer.
