boots is the most interesting fight for Bud right now I. The aftermath of the Charlo did v Alvarez. Unfortunately Boots just isn’t worth the risk for Bud right now, and nothing wrong w that. He’s not a duck, not scared, just a 36 year old fighter trying to make as much money as he can before he has to retire. He doing what he posed to do.

Tszyu is a much bigger fight than Boots. A fight between them in Australia would be huge over there. Way more money in that one than in one with Boots.

I hope the Saudis do buy out the sport or something drastic like that happens, its not like the sport can possibly sink much if any lower from this point.

This is why Usyk is so great in my eyes he fought real killers all one after another at their peaks and cleaned his division in its entirety, until there was nobody left, there was not one fighter left people anyone could say he ducked or was a legitimate threat, then he moved up. Much, much harder than picking & choosing and waiting out fights. Love him or hate him, same with Ward. Both guys the best of the best & you can not talk the best SMWs or CWs without mentioning them, that is legacy.

Crawfords resume is full of shot & compromised fighters that have virtually all been beaten in much better fashion.
His second best win is a semi retired Shawn Porter who lost nearly every time he stepped up and we're acting like this guys great? Or has some great legacy?
History will remember him as nothing but a belt collector that has a paper thin resume & it'll simply highlight how far the sport has fallen and how easy it became to collect belts and even to unify.
An entitled cherrypicker who is exploiting a very broken system and biding his time to do against the weak links of the divisions.

The thing is I think its the opposite for most part.
I think that people who picked Spence have egg on their faces are going too far with the praise for Crawford when anyone with a pair of eyes that seen that fight should be able to see that for whatever reasons or factors that he was not healthy and looked like he'd just got back from a 12hr bender.

He is dangerously shot but people want to sit and act like he just beat a peak Tito Trinidad or something, its ridiculous.
He shouldn't have passed a medical. It was just sad, was almost like watching Ali at the end of his career or something. Just sad as-is the praise.
Really it was just another ''super fight'' that got drawn out for way too damn long.

Again... In a perfect world: Spence is solid #2, ready and able. Unfortunately, and nobody is blaming Bud... Spence looked like he was lacking. Unfortunately there are reasons that support that reality (car accident primarily).

What I'm having a problem with is this idea that Crawford is ducking a guy who had two opportunities to fight him and declined to do so.
The whole world knew that there was going to a rematch clause between Crawford and Spence. We also knew that Spence was moving up, win or lose.
Ennis switching from the WBO to the IBF was clearly to put him in position to collect a vacant title, nothing more.

The solution is simple. So what if he got stripped. He’s not gonna be fighting for the titles anyway if he plans to only get money fights or move up. And if he wants that title back he can always go get it from Boots. Idk what all the fuzz is about.

Bud deserves all the praise and flowers he is a future hof. I believe if he retired today his legacy and overall resume would be kind of thin as far as names. With that being said, becoming undisputed in two weight classes in the 4 belt era is a huge accomplishment, Regardless if Spence did the heavy lifting for him at 47. Bud still went in there vs Spence and handled business. He should be focusing the rest of his time in the hurt game on enhancing his legacy by beating top names, he needs names on his resume at this point, Ennis is a great talent but at the moment isn’t accomplished and we can’t for sure say he will be in the future because no one knows that. Jermell at 54, Spence at 54, canelo at 68, even the Aussie tszyu at 54 would all enhance his legacy more than a boots win would right now. Those are the facts but id still rather see him vs boots then any other fight, because that would close the debate as far as who is best at 47. Similar to canelo, until he beats benavidez and Morell at 68 we can’t say he is the best at 68 regardless of the undisputed title. But this is boxing, and say bud beats boots and canelo beats both David’s, there will always be another one that they are “ducking” or that would “beat” them. It is what it is

I agree with that, but Tszu would bring something for buds resume/legacy that he doesn’t have and has not accomplished, and that’s a new title at a new weight class. That belt Ennis has, was taken from bud and given to boots, bud been there and done that. With that being said, I totally agree with you that The greater accomplishment is exactly what you are saying it would be to and that’s to beat boots at 47 because I rate boots higher at 47 then I do Tim at 54 not because of where their respective careers are at the moment but because of where I believe their careers will end up in history based on the eye test. It’s all my opinion and speculation at this point, however what isn’t speculation is the fact that Tim brings a new title in new weight class. That’s my reasoning behind my statement

Bud CHOSE to re-up with Top Rank when all the competition was at PBC. Had he fought better opponents maybe he would commamd more money, but he was good with fighting fringe contenders for comfortable guarantees.

He was no more blackballed than Mayweather was from fighting Top Rank opponents when Arum was doing everything in-house.

Bud is the recognized P4P #1. After the Spence rematch, he has the ability to choose whichever opponent he wants to face at WW and it also happens to be the best fight that can be made there. I actually think he beats Boots comfortably.

What a disappointment to see a talent like his NOT fighting top guys.

And boxing was wayyy different when Mayweather fought De La Hoya.

First of all, De La Hoya fought everybody from Trinidad, Whitaker, Hopkins, Moseley, or whoever. He wasn't a cherry picker like Floyd or Canelo once they became the guy.

If De La Hoya was like the PBC boys & let Al Haymon put him in witness protection, we would've never gotten the great fight we got from him.

Crawford was just unlucky to be the one guy in his era willing to fight anybody in an era where everybody else hid behind Al Haymon.

De La Hoya wouldnt have waited 5 years like Spence did, I don't care who his promoter was.

that's sound reasoning, but also just more of the same thing plaguing (imo) Bud now. Lack of prime, credible opposition.
