Crawford is currently 36 years old, and given that he's fought once a year since 2020 he's got three, maaaybe four matches tops left in his career I'd say. It really is a shame that the two most talked about potential opponents for Crawford are both absolutely useless when it comes to adding on to his legacy as a boxer. They both will get him good money so I can see why he is willing to go for it and I don't blame his thought process, but still a waste.

If not for the Spence rematch, I really think Crawford can go up to 154 next summer and fight Tszyu for his belt and win. Then he might be able to sell off the undisputed fight for another cash-in to convince Jermell to fight him one last time for another check, or whoever gets Jermell's belt after they are stripped next year. However, after Spence II rematch win and a Canelo loss, at 38 years old 41-1 with loads of cash in his bank account Crawford certainly won't be staying around an extra few years to clean out 154 from there. Heck, not even a guarantee that he'd win a belt at 154 at that point as he might just not care after the Canelo retirement fundraiser.

It’ll be canelo vs mell all over again and if bud engages he will get stopped, it’s either fight like Jerrell did to survive or try and engage and get stopped it’s the only two scenarios nothing else different will happen in that fight. The weight is too much and skill for skill they are equal, except canelo has better defense and head and waist movement, Crawford has more active feet. That’s about all that separates them, oh and canelo has a better chin bud has a better gas tank.
