Berto was hyped to the max during his time. Everyone was accused of ducking him. He did well financially. Haymon made sure he gets his $1 million per fight from HBO.

The first fight was some of the worst boxing IQ in history by Berto.

Back then, May-Pac debates were constant and some felt Pac would win because Floyd's style of defence was great for defending vs orthodox guys, countering the right hand. But that Pac's little side steps and straight lefts would find gaps there. Floyd fans pointed out that didn't matter, because Floyd was intelligent enough to use different styles vs different opponents. He knew the right D to use for each opponent and adjusted quickly mid-fight. It was an interesting debate.

So then Guerrero-Berto happens and Berto comes out for the opening round trying to use the shoulder roll on a southpaw. Gets caught over and over by flush straight lefts, dropped. Comes out for the second round without adjusting, gets caught in the same way, dropped even worse. Fight said a lot about ring IQ but 'incredibly high' isn't the phrase I'd go for.

Lost to Karass, Porter, Guerrero and Ortiz.

His Floyd fight was so boring that I have totally forgotten Floyd even fought him.

Cut Zaveck by a faul: head butt.

Terrible fighter to watch. he got many big undeserving pay days.

Is this for the WBC ("Wasted Brain Cells") title?

I'm sure Sulaiman would have a belt manufactured for the occasion.

The Guerrero fight was the worst fight Berto was ever been in. His midsection got peppered with never ending punches by Robert. Later, Berto admitted urinating blood after that fight.

Worst style matchup for Berto. His main defense was to hug or clinch, but Guerrero kept making his way to Berto's lower body part. Berto complained to the ref, but the ref ignored him because he was the one who kept holding. Berto wanted to box and some distance, but Robert's plan was to break that distance every time. At least that's how I remember it. And I don't plan on re-watching it on Youtube.

Berto was a just a belt holder. Same as Senchenko, Zaveck etc.

Okay, he was never the man to beat at 147, he did not have a high ring IQ and he’s not a Haitian native, lol. Who writes these articles?
