Alvarez has fought and beaten higher level fighters than Benevidez, but of course? Not at their peak.
You most be kidding(I have read some of your post, and you seems to know about the sport)Mosley was a least 5 years removed from his prime, he was old, same with cotto, he was lucky to get the crown from another injured and past his prime fighter like garcia, the 160 pounds division had its senior circuit in those days, the reason nobody with a name wanted to fight ggg, even canelo dropped the belt and refused to fight Golovkin. Maybe I didn't use the right sentence, how many fighters at benavidez level and in their prime, has canelo fought? He fought Lara, and looked like a fish out the water, very lucky to escape with a split decision, maybe not luck, one of the refs had the card filled before the first round. Who else? I think bivol, again he got trashed and almost got bailed out again. By the way, charlo was there for the check, he didn't belong in that division and everyone with a brain knew he just didn't have a chance, put him with benavidez or Morell jr and charlo wouldn't see the 12th round.
Benevidez is not really miles above the level of fighters Alvarez has already fought and beaten 'That is the main point I am making'.
Do you think Benevidez has the ability to become a all-time great Champion? To me he looks like a top fighter, who will most likely fade out soon enough at 168 pounds when his weight draining tactics start to have a negative accumulative effect 'And although he is a aggressive, and dangerous at 168 pounds. I have not seen the level of skills that would be needed for him to move up through the weight classes, and become a dominant Champion'.
As of now? That is the type of fighter Benevidez appears to be.
Note: But like I stated before, Benevdiez is a challenge for Alvarez stylistically at this stage of his career at 168 pounds 'And I don't think Benevidez needs to win anymore big fights to earn his title fight vs Alvarez. The fight is there to be made, and Benevidez is near enough at his peak'.
I know the level of fighter which Alvarez is mate, I don't rate him on the level of Mayweather Junior or Pacquiao. And when it comes to the Middle to Super Middle Weight Divisions, I believe Alvarez has competed during a under-par era. But he has been the best fighter during this era, so people must give him credit for that.
If Alvarez would of been competing during the 90's or early 2000's, he would of in my opinion? Not moved up past 160 pounds 'There would of been too many fighters at 168 to 175 pounds, who would of beaten him in my opinion' etc.

Fair enough, you forgot to mention the supremely good matchmaking canelo has enjoyed, from the get go.

You drifted quite a bit there. I'm not interested in engaging you on endless nonsense strawman arguments. Let's stick to my point. I insist that if Benavidez would have had the discipline to keep his WBC SMW title he would have lost it to Canelo in 2021. In December 2020, Canelo moved up to 168lbs (or down from 175) to take on Callum Smith for his WBA title. I'll remind you that Callum Smith was the top rated SMW and Ring Magazine Champion at the time, not David Benavidez. During the negotiations for that WBA fight, David Benavidez was stripped of his title on the scales when he couldn't make weight against Alexis Angulo. Benavidez won the fight anyway, but the title became vacant and the WBC added it to the stakes of the Canelo-Smith fight because that was the biggest fight in the division. What about these facts do you contest? It’s easy to say what Canelo would’ve done if Benavidez didn’t get stripped but the truth is, Canelo never expressed any interest in facing Benavidez while he was champion. However, 2 days after Benavidez got stripped, canelo petitioned the wbc for the belt. That’s when he suddenly became interested. So you can pretend like Canelo would’ve fought him but that isn’t a lock and I doubt he would’ve. As far as discipline, yeah Benavidez should’ve made weight. But let’s not be hypocritical because Canelo has missed a contracted weight before as well. The difference was he used his leverage to change the contracted weight a day before the fight. Let’s also not forget he took a banned substance that helps with cutting weight. So he’s in no position to throw stones.Comment

You can stick to what you’d assume and I’ll stick with what actually happened. Canelo has and continues to avoid Benavidez. Not sure how much more proof you need but your assumptions are based on nothing. My statements are based on what Canelo has done, or better stated, hasn’t done.

Truth be told, canelo only pursue the unification when benavidez lost the belt, with the add up comment that he wouldn't fight another mexican, obviously he didn't know benavidez was only half mexican. And it was a corrupt move by sulaiman to add the WBC belt.

Your comments on this thread =
“Benavidez/Andrade winner is next.”
”Canelo's next fight will absolutely be against the winner of Benavidez/Andrade.”
”If David Benavidez would have had the discipline to hold onto his old SMW title, Canelo would have taken it from him two years ago. He didn't and that's why he got pushed back in line”
“I insist that if Benavidez would have had the discipline to keep his WBC SMW title he would have lost it to Canelo in 2021.”
All of the above are assumptions based on your wishful fanboy logic. Hold the L sir.

It's an assumption that if benavidez have kept his belt, canelo wouls have fight him for it, much less taking it from him, the facts are, he never mentioned benavidez , never say he was going to unify while he hold the belt and said he was not fighting mexicans. Those are facts not assumptions.Your comments on this thread =
