Morrell has a better claim to the Canelo fight from the mandatory perspective than Benavidez. Not sure it will matter though, since it's Canelo.
Of course it doesn't matter, he will fight whoever fits his agenda.

Who did ryder fought to earn his mandatory status? Did you know he was supposed to fight Morrell Jr, ryder, and hearns took him out of the States telling everyone that ryder was going to fight bivol, of course he never did and bailed out of his fight with the Cuban.

Ye he should be fighting elites like John Ryder.

He has to strike while the iron is hot! If he's successful beating Spence again, then there's no better opponent for him than Canelo Alvarez!

Can't see David's promoter going for the Morrell matchup it's pretty high risk low reward. David's in a great position at his age though I think he's set to takeover the 168 and 175 pound divisions.

Ryder beat Zach Parker to earn his mando spot. The same spot Demetrius Andrade was going to fight for except he pulled out of the Parker fight.

Now that Benavidez is calling him out hopefully Morrell’s team won’t duck him like they did once already.

Yeah money wise definitely. Because once he moves up .. moving back down might be the end of his career. And fighting other guys in division wouldn't be smart.

But yeah if I'm him I'ma follow the money and it would be huge for his legacy if he wins or make it a close fight

You the mad one here. If you are saying that canelo is after legacy, which to me doesn't look like he wants legacy, why did he choose to fight ryder instead of benavidez, a two times champ in his prime. Why didn't he gave bivol more money, that afterall he was entitled to it, no he wanted the same terms. Remember that he never pick the rematch option, he let it expired.

Shut up. He, ryder ducked Morell jr, he was supposed to fight him to became the mandatory for the wba two years ago, the wba gave an extension to finalize the deal and he said he was moving up to fight bivol. He fought twice to "earn" his mando, when he could have fought Morell jr once and get the position. Why don't you tell it like it is? Shields stopped the fight because he has only work with Morell jr once, he wanted to learn more about his fighter, two fights later here we are, the fight was almost signed and benavidez bailed our of contest, fear, ducking? I don't think so. But Morell should fight the best available option and keep on going.
