Bivol imo has the best high guard because it's paired with amazing footwork.

he has the best defense in the sport.

and who else have I missed?
The best fighters of the " Philly shell " or high guard fighters are fighters with short torso's and long arms. They cover up nicely. If the happen to have big arms, that is a bonus.

There is a very big difference between an ordinary high guard and an ACTIVE high guard.
The basic high guard boxer absorbs punches until the opponent has stopped punching and doesn't throw back.
An active high guard boxer will catch, parry, slip, find positions to counter and often will use upper body movement.

Canelo (now especially) is an example of the first style, Marlon Starling/Winky Wright where masters of the second.

My favorite was Joshua Clottey. If only he kept up a good punch output every round. Because he was hard to hit, hurt and his punches were accurate. Ask Cotto

Winky Wright probably the best example. But modern fighters, you missed Canelo and Chocolatito. Surprised nobody has mentioned the latter.

The high guard takes away punching power imo

not a lot of punchers use the high guard. Shortens the swing on counters. Also opponents can see punches comjng
