What's so special about it? It's useless if you're not countering. Some opponents could actually punch right through the center, on your nose.

To me the style is very appealing and technical, and I have long arms and that’s the way I use to spar

You just looking for punching bags? Mikey Garcia has/had an awesome high guard where he picks off most punches via parrying and subtle headmovement, Pacquiao another, master of parrying, with hands and forearms. Oscar De La Hoya when he put up his guard also had great parrying. Roman Gonzalez is a god in this category.

Abraham, Spence etc have very elementary high guards. Just absorb and thus they either get beat up through the guard or have to step back or something. One of the best absorbing high guards I can remember recently is from little known Jose Velazquez.

Canelo has one of the most complete high guards today. He’s probably the simplest to study to try to get a high level high guard.
