Comments Thread For: Tyson Fury On Francis Ngannou: I Didn't Underestimate Him; I Trained For 12 Weeks

Tyson Fury won't try to excuse away his subpar performance Saturday night. The undefeated Fury feels Francis Ngannou deserves full credit for testing him in their 10-round, non-title fight at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The WBC heavyweight champion insists that his split-decision win wasn't the consequence of him taking Ngannou lightly.

There’s a thing called overtraining, if you train for too long you over do it and you end up being flat on the night

Mr.Fury has a nonexistent relationship with the truth.

Nobody believes you, Tyson. You looked fat and disinterested and genuinely shocked when you got hit. You came for a sparring match and Francis came for a fight.

It's highly doubtful he actually trained that hard for that long for an mma fighter. Laughable really, otherwise he wouldn't have scheduled a fight two months later against a legit boxer/ champion

Fury did not train for this fight, the circle of truth proved this - his shots were extremely wide, he wasn't sharp at all, he had no footwork, he wasn't prepared for adversity.

And the start of the fight was a perfect example of his lack of respect for his opponent, he ran in with his signature left hook, right hand and didn't set it up behind the jab like he normally does just emphasising his complete lack of respect for Ngannou and how easy he expected this fight to be.

His own brother said in a interview the day after that he only brung sugar hill over 4-5 weeks before the fight.. he did not prepare for competitive fight whatsoever he was expecting it to be a few rounds of him showboating and breaking a novice down for 4-5 rounds at most and give the people abit of a show. There's no way he thought Francis was gonna give him problems in any sense so when he did you could see it on his face he was like Oh **** this a real fight I actually gotta put effort into it and he didn't have it in him so he kind of went into like auto pilot of just standing on the outside and throwing the jab and nicking rounds

Tyson on full damage control. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise, maybe Tyson will pull his head out his ass and train hard for Usyk.

Or maybe he stays away from Usyk and milks a Ngannou rematch then something else.

Fury looked no different to Wilder 3.

He did the same wide shots and falling in square v Wilder, but Deotay can't counter, fight on the back foot or hold his ground. He just went backwards and ultimately down.

When Wilder did land, Fury was hurt.

This is probably the best Fury there is now. Francis is just stronger.

I was wondering if someone was going to mention how Fury started the fight..
