Jones loses to Tarver and Glen Johnson were only because he was green right? He reached his prime in the Trinidad fight! I can't believe that 50 year old Joe calzahge beat him.

Who knows what could have happened or how Hopkins and Calzaghe would have matched up then. Maybe neither would have been champ because sadly one loss for a good fighter can make you a very avoided gatekeeper opponent.....As much as ppl don't want to hear it Joe won the fight while they were both old and we will never know what would have happened at their bests when they were younger and fought differently than Joe did later in his career and Bernard does now.Comment

Hopkins and Joe both cause problems for each other in their primes but I think a younger and more active version of Hopkins would have been too much for Joe and would have won a decision. Joe fans that point to Calzaghe having more power back in his younger days need to realise that Hopkins wouldn't have cared. Hopkins' straight right hand would have been the deciding factor in this fight. He showed he could land it in their fight last year and would have landed it more often and with more power if he had fought Joe in his prime.
Just my take.Comment

My Quote: "Jones was the best there when he moved up and was 100% undisputed @ LHW. Hence, being the 'Ring' world champ".
Ring champ = UNDISPUTED.
Savy?
Examples: Calzaghe was undisputed @ LHW after he beat Hopkins. He was indeed undisputed champ. Did that mean he beat everyone in the division who held a belt or who held lineage? No, and again...........No.
Point. Fact. Case closed.Comment

Yeah! The older inactive Hopkins still kicked his ass. Hopkins called Joeout ten years ago and was willing to move up. Joe never foguth the best in their primes because he would have been KO'd. Hopkins and Jones di however fight the best in their primes and emerge victorious. They have the legacy of champs, and Joe has the legacy of a fraudComment

Hopkins, Tony, Griffin, McCallum, Gonzalez, Woods, Hill = the definition of bum.
After Roy outclassed a guy so easily in his prime, he was always called a bum until he went on to capture a world title against other strong opponents.
The word 'dense' comes to mind again strangely enough.
Remind me again the notable guys Joe Calzaghe beat in his prime?

Former champions Reid, Eubank, Woodhall, Brewer, Mitchell, Lacy, Kessler, Hopkins and RJJ. Even if some of them were past prime they were no worse than a 40 year old McCallum, 34 year old Hill, or a 35 year old retired Tito. RJJ beat some good prime fighters at lower weights, but who did he really beat at the elite level at lhw besides his very close Tarver win? Let me guess Clinton Woods. Yep he's about as good as Lacy or Woodhall.Hopkins, Tony, Griffin, McCallum, Gonzalez, Woods, Hill = the definition of bum.
